Introduction--
"It gets darkest before the Dawn".
"In every dark cloud there is a silver lining".
"What goes around comes around".
"Those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it".
These are some common expressions or words of wisdom which people use when trying to console themselves or others after a tragic event, whether it be individual or societal in nature. In many cases this kind of response arises from feelings of helplessness, despair, or abject fear. Because it becomes a kind of defense mechanism which many resort to in order to bail out of a discussion which is unpleasant, these types of expressions have lost any previous meaning or relevance. Especially the last one on history. They are empty platitudes, vacuous and diversionary flights from reality, designed to change the subject or avoid something painful.
Every bone in your figurative bodies will be screaming at you within moments at this point, as you scroll down this article, see its length, and do a kind of screengrab of the first sentences of each paragraph, seeing where this is going, how heavy it is, and you will be thinking: "No, I can't, not today. Not during the Holidays. This is too much, I'm not doing this. Maybe later. Maybe never. I'm so exhausted by all of this", etc etc. I would suggest you fight it through and dive in. Let yourselves face the unfaceable.
Forget about past history for the moment. You are standing or sitting right here, watching a great crime being planned and committed, and you don't believe your eyes. You want it to go away. You are swept away by incredulity and choose to believe that it is either not real, or something else entirely. You listen to commentators who reassure you that "the rule of law" or some heroic individual or group will step in and fix it, even if you are not in denial. You accept a name for it that is a complete falsehood, (such as "Conservative") because it relaxes you and eases your fears about being vulnerable to "extremism" or hyperbole, and gives faint hope that maybe things are not that bad. And you choose to see this process in isolation, disconnected from any context, or as a headline news story, event, or as a happening which "is what it is." (the other brain dead expression people throw out there in their various states of resignation or despair). In a crisis, our minds ask for simple answers to problems, though our gut tells us that it's never that simple.
Then there is the old standby, "I'm just one person", another expression. Or, "I have problems in my own life to sort out, I don't have time or energy for this". These are the fallbacks used by "normal people," like those you know around you who are having difficulty dealing with something they believe to be beyond their control. And this is the problem.
Our current crisis does not flow from the shiboleth that history repeats itself, or that we haven't learned enough from history. It is defined by yours and others desire to "live a normal life" while some of the greatest of all crimes are being planned and carried out right in front of you, in the light of day, in the present, not within some academic construct of a "history" which is magically repeating.
No one who is remotely conscious of our emerging national nightmare needs to read Gibbon's "Decline of the Roman Empire", Prescott's "Conquest of Mexico" or Shirer's "Rise and Fall of The Third Reich" to understand what is unfolding before our eyes, although it wouldn't hurt.
All that is needed is to open our eyes and allow ourselves to see that which is right in front of us which we have been avoiding. The thing we want to give another name. The thing which we hope passes us by if and when it arrives, like some sort of Biblical plague. That which Liberal media will not dare utter. The above are but a few of the lies we tell ourselves to cope with a reality which we have chosen to block out.
The political movement led by Donald Trump and his acolytes is a Nazi movement. It is modeled upon, rooted philosophically in, and is ideologically in every respect a full-blown Nazi Party, with American characteristics. Therefore the public attack on Christianity and Jesus himself byTrump Jr. has far greater implications than the first news coverage "hot take" on it.
You do not want to believe that, because you have been told since you were young that "it can't happen here", that our Constitutional "checks and balances" would hold, and that Hitler's crimes were not replicable. You've also been told that Trump is not an anti-semite who believes in wiping out Jewry and was "strong on Israel". And as a result of political correctness, you've been told that comparisons of Trump to Hitler are just the extremist rhetoric of the so-called Far Left, who have been crying wolf about reemerging fascism for 60 years, and that imagining such a threat is a just another "conspiracy theory" defining you as paranoid if you speak of it. Or, we have the modernist snark of the writers from Generation Yuck that Trump is "fading", becoming more irrelevant the longer he is out of the Presidency.
Also we have the more reality grounded who fall back on another old standby, "I agree with you, but you can't say that"! That one works very well for those who would never want such a description of Trump to appear on their Facebook wall, or even dream of clicking "like" on it, much less share it. After all, there are friends, family, employers and business associates that would be highly offended by this if it showed up on your page. Some of my readers and friends fall into this last category.
The liberal writers who tell you "we're not there yet" are themselves not entirely all there. They are scared little baby bunnies who are crapping in their diapers, politically and metaphorically speaking.
You've been told a lot of things about the Trump movement which you've chosen to accept in order to stay in the comfort zone. And now it is becoming more difficult to do that, because they are out of the closet in full Nazi regalia, telling you who they are and what they have planned. So, this presents new difficulties. How to convey this to others? What is the evidence? Who do I trust? Most importantly, what should I do? Certainly a number of things we are not doing now.
Part I- Trump's Blueprint for an American Nazi Project--Fascism with a Patriotic cover
Let's start with the last two weeks, and for the moment, put history aside.
Two weeks ago Trump interviewed with an Israeli writer in regard to Israeli politics, Netanyahu's early congratulatory message to Biden after his victory, and his core beliefs in respect to Israeli influence in the US. This became the occasion for an anti-semitic rant which I and many others already suspected was scripted in his head, waiting for an interview type setting in which to barf it all out. My response was to say, "thank you Donald, good going, I always knew you had it in you".
This interview should be read without the lazy minded characterization which lumps it into the category of unhinged, or bizarre. It is neither. It is his Nazi "coming out party", reflecting his abandonment of even the pretense of keeping his true beliefs under wraps for tactical political reasons. It is his declaration that he is the not remotely concerned with maintaining appearances.
In my case, I am a fierce critic of Benjamin Netanyahu, who is a butcher, is corrupt, and a threat to Israel's existence. Attacks on him over policy are fair game. That is not what Trump is doing. He is attacking Netanyahu for not reciprocating his largesse in propping up his coalition by supporting him in stealing the election. And the rant against Bibi gave rise to an attack on Israelis and American Jews, regurgitating the anti-semitic tropes of "Jewish Control" of Congress and money. Not all critics of Israel are anti-semites. But this interview was "meshuggah".

Last year I wrote at length about Trump's anti-semitism in reaction to the tragic levels of political and financial support given him by my fellow Jewish Americans. Here is a link and some relevant quotes-- From August 21, 2020

Read about what Trump, the great "Chosen One" actually says about Jews. Nowhere do you see anything about the strength of our families, our commitment to ongoing higher education, our generosity in giving to Charities, (unlike his fake ones) our opposition historically to slavery and racism, our role financing the Civil Rights movement, and shedding Jewish blood in support of those human rights. Or our commitment to defending the rule of Law, as typified by Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and her predecessors in the fight for Civil Rights. Where does he speak of Jewish scientists and scholars? Does he ever reference Jewish writers or philosophers such as Moses Mendelsohn, who translated the Classics like Plato's Dialogues into German, Hebrew, and Yiddish. Does he even know who Sholem Aleichem was? "Isn't that a Synagogue on the Upper East Side, oh yeah, Roy Cohn belonged there".
No, none of that interests him. He likes reading about Mossad assassins who go out and kill people. He likes finding Jewish lawyers with connections to protect his fat orange behind. But, in point of fact, he, the great defender of Israel, the man who LOVES the Jews, who has the Jewish Son-in-Law and the shiksa daughter who converted to "Gucci Judaism", (a branch of Ultra-Reform) is just another Anti-Semite, who thinks he is using us. The context for this "self-outing" is Trump's open courting and affiliation with the bottom of the garbage heap in his Party, the Insurrectionist and openly racist anti-semites in the so-called "Freedom Caucus". Gosar, Taylor-Greene, Boebert, Biggs, Gaetz, Cawthorn, etal. Their concept of Freedom is as legitimate as that over the Gate at Auschwitz, which says "Arbeit Macht Frei" (Work Makes You Free) the freedom to go up and out the chimney. And of course there is his open courting of the Neo-Nazi White Supremacist Militia movement, including the "fine people" among the Charlottesville murderers, Proud Boys, Confederates, and the obscene QAnon Cult.
Do yourselves a favor. Read the Times of Israel interview with Trump earlier this month, and compare it with the above quote from my article which virtually no one read or wanted to think about then, and reflect for a moment on how much more you are literally blocking out. Or, maybe you find some truth in what he said about Jews. Be honest and say so. That is a first step toward recovery.
Part II-- Trump Has Let His Guard Down
According to Trump's famous Ex, Ivana, (mother of Ivanka) her husband during their marriage had on his nightable a book which included the speeches of Adolph Hitler. (source, Vanity Fair, 1990)-
In 2020, it was reported by a source thought to be former White House Chief of Staff, retired Marine General John Kelly that Trump praised Adolf Hitler to him personally. "Well, Hitler did a lot of good things,” Trump told Kelly during a 2018 visit to Europe to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I, according to the book".

And there was the notable statements reported in New York Magazine in September of 2020 and elsewhere by Trump that "Jews were only in it for themselves", with the accompanying coverage here.
As the New York Magazine article states with some degree of accuracy, Trump though not an "eliminationist" anti-semite, is the type of vile racist like Nixon who can still maintain his views and maintain the fiction of working with Jews, or other minorities, and claim to stand for pro-Israel policies. NYMag also interviews a former White House Staffer who claims he does not believe Trump is an anti--semite, but is loyal to his political base which he is aware includes Nazis and White Supremacists, who support Trump because they are racist and see in him kindred spirit.
However, I have no interest in reviewing the tired chronology of statements and events which prove Trump is a racist. That ship has sailed. I'm interested in confronting people with what they already know, but refuse to believe, that he is in fact a full blown Nazi. And so is his son Donald Jr. That leads us to the actual significance of Trump Jr's comments on Christianity.
Part III-- Donald Trump Jr. ... The Oedipal, Enraged, Craven Nebbish
Let's dispense with this part right away. Trump Jr. is on one hand significant only as a flunkie for his father, over whom he has zero influence. Junior trolls right wing websites and sends his father conspiracy theories and memes. But after he set up his father with the Trump Tower meeting, he is kept out of anything really important. Trump Jr. is himself a zero in that sense, as should be evident by the sheer ferocity of his father's lack of interest in Jr.'s pleas on January 6th to call off the Mob. That was his Father's mob, called forth and deployed by him to stage the chaos needed to pull off a coup against the election. One can imagine a transcript of that conversation if it ever surfaces. "Listen you fucking idiot, this is my show and I, unlike you, know what I'm doing, so just STFU", or something like it.
No one should mistake Jr's phone call as being honestly motivated to stop the violence, or defend the rule of law. He was afraid of going to jail for his role in it, where all of his comforts would disappear. He is a shallow and intellectually challenged illiterate punk, as you can tell from his blithering attack on Jesus Christ in his speech. And likewise, never make the mistake of thinking that he ever had an original thought. Everything coming out of his mouth is programmed in by his father, or is an attempt to impress or influence him, as only a thoroughly Oedipal son does. If there is any doubt, read Mary Trump's description of the utter dysfunction of this family from top to bottom, with she being the exception.

So, if it is true that Trump Jr. has little or no original thoughts, it is reasonable to conclude that he was raised with the beliefs which he espoused in his speech, which is that the Jesus of the Christian Bible and his historic followers have been largely pathetic suckers. His father has dedicated his life to exploiting and crushing those he considers "weak" that stand in his way. Weakness is the worst insult that anyone in his personal orbit can be hit with. In the Trump family's worldview, the virtues of humility, charity, forgiveness, (has anyone ever heard of Trump forgiving anyone who "screwed him" unless they genuflect and swear eternal loyalty with an act of virtual fellatio?) mercy, willingness to suffer for the sake of others, and so forth are the ultimate form of weakness and are for "losers" only.
Their values are that of the Anti-Christ, if you actually consider the full scope of Jesus' ministry. Therefore a real Trumpian must reject the "weakness" of a Jesus who turns the other cheek, and loves their enemies. Real strength resides with the marketplace cannibal, who will eat his rivals and his very own young if need be, then stone their enemies to death, drink their blood from their skulls, and will never in the name of any Deity repent for any crime or injustice they commit. They can shoot people on Fifth Avenue, grab women by their pussies, accept laundered money from the dictator of Russia, and overturn elections, "because they are not weak", and the rest of us are.
Remember, that like the fictional Gordon Gekko in the film "Wall Street", (famously portrayed by Michael Douglas) the family has been taught for generations that business and politics are a war in which the ruthless, conscienceless, and "fittest" survive and win. This is a credo which goes back to the racist and Klan sympathizing Fred Trump, who taught his son the values of good genetics and heredity for coming out on top. This is their "value proposition", their "Weltanschauung or Kulturekampf" (literally Culture Wars) as Hitler might say. These are the concepts which have unleashed a new potentially violent movement for book burning, in the name of defending American traditional values. This is what Donald Trump Jr. learned at his father's bone spur afflicted feet as he grew up, in the home where Mein Kampf and Hitler's speeches sat on his night table.
Part IV-- The Third Reich's "Positive Christianity"--
This is the part where you will turn off, because it has become habit. The conditioning to reject the comparison or any historical parallels of Trump's movement to that of Hitler's Nazis is so thorough that it can result in a synaptic break. "Nobody is that evil. It demeans Holocaust victims to compare Trump and his supporters to the Nazis. You are seeing Nazi boogeymen because you are damaged and obsessed. They said, "Never Again". It can't happen here", everyone who opposes Trump is called a racist or a fascist, according to Liberals. Or "Hitler was a Socialist, just like the radical Left today", blah blah blah. Some or all of these arguments are renting space in your heads. And you are exhausted by it all, which of course is their intention.
Well, if that is what people think, I'm here to say that you haven't fought it hard enough to be exhausted yet. You haven't yet conceived of what these people will do if and when they retake the Congress and the White House. It is the part of your mind that you have put on vacation voicemail, and are determined not to listen to your messages. I know this because I go through it even after a lifetime of fighting fascism, which means that even if you care about these matters, you sometimes do the same thing.
Nevertheless, it is all there, should you choose to see it. In Adolf HItler's prison autobiography "Mein Kampf", he set forward a watered down version of his religious views, which were actually not religious in the least, rather his beliefs in race science as it applied to religion.

The essence of the Nazis "Positive Christianity" was to idealize a mythic Aryan Jesus, blonde haired, blue eyed, and a fierce warrior against the Jews of Jerusalem in his time. Not a man of Peace, or the son of God of a New Dispensation in which forgiveness and mercy, universal love and salvation through participation in the Triune God was the message, rather the Nordic God of retribution against those who despoiled the genetic heritage of mankind. Hitler despised the Catholic Church and the Protestant Confessions, therefore intended to wipe out both once he had disposed of the Jews. Part V-- Why Did Trump Jr. Decide To Drop This Bomb In His Speech?
You've heard me say this before but it bears repeating. Often in trying to process big events, the timing and context is as important or more so than the event itself. In this case I would emphasize that point in making sense of the "why." Why on Earth would the son of the future GOP nominee, his father, unchallenged in his own Party, with a megamillion dollar money machine which is largely dependent upon the Evangelical activist and donor base of Christian conservatives ever get up in front of an audience to attack Christians as suckers and chumps, implying Jesus was weak?
Well, like a truly empty headed populist who always descends to the level of the lowest common denominator of his audience, he feels comfortable in front of this group. He is letting the whole shebang hang out for the assembled gathering of Young Fascists known as Turning Point USA. This is a gaggle of neo-Nazis like Charlie Kirk, Jack Posobiec, Nick Fuentes, and other Alt-Right lunatics who would be better off Ctrl-Alt-Deleted. They could be referred to as scum, but that would be an insult to scum. This group is worse than polluted river sediment in need of dredging. Remember that this is the grouping which inspired the set design last year for the CPAC conference which was a straight out Nazi symbol of the Odal Rune

Their mindset now is kill or be killed, like a feral animal. They are positioning to make Trump Speaker of the House, and use that as a stepping stone to reinstalling him without an election. On the table is Impeachment of Biden and Harris, banning free elections, eliminating most aspects of the social safety net and protections for Labor, deregulation and privatization on a mass scale, to create a 1920's style Mob based economy called Gangster Capitalism. And of course, to reverse all social progress since the New Deal for African Americans, Native Americans, Women, LGTBQ, our other minorities and so forth. And forget about climate. The fascist majority Supreme Court is already with the program,so there is no help coming from there. And we are asking what our President and Attorney General have to say about all of this. At what point do they recognize that we have an enemy, that they are Americans, and will they engage?
So you are asking, "What the Hell do we do"? Well, I'm happy to discuss that. But the first thing is to get out from under the conditioning and the mental block which prevents you from using that word. You know the one. It's the word that you are not supposed to say, which in your mind is the only one to say. Just say it.
