Ideology, Categories, and Radical Nominalism, Part 4. The Greens, Malthus, Hitler, and Al Gore

Ok, ok, I can feel the anger and resentment building up. If you have read Part 1-3, then you know I'm going for a slow build, until I "come off the top rope" toward the end, to use a Wrestling term. If you haven't, I think you need start at the beginning to follow my line of argument, no matter how disjointed or offensive it may seem.  Most people who identify as Environmentalists today are good, well meaning people, who want good things for themselves and others. There are dedicated and highly qualified people who give of themselves greatly, as Scientists, Oceanographers, Climatolgists, Ecologists etc, who want to do the right things to protect Humanity's future, in the face of a neglectful and destructive misallocation of resources, which is what pollution actually is. My wife is a dedicated Ecologist, who subjects me to ritualistic hazing if I put a used paper napkin in the recycle bin. So, I am aware of the degree of knowledge and sincerity which those folks c...

ideology, Categories, and Radical Nominalism: Part 3-- The Green Roots of Sanders

Dear Reader, welcome to Part 3. If you are stumbling across this blog post having not yet looked over Parts 1 and 2, I'd advise you to take a gander at those first, otherwise, what I'm about to say will not make much sense. If you like it, and are intrigued, feel free to share and let me know. If you want to strangle me, Haha, you're too late, I'm going into exile. If you are considering a lawsuit, please get in line, my Attorney is on call. So, Bernie Sanders is not a Socialist, he is a Green. Let that sink in. For some, that may seem to enhance his credibiliity. For others, it is irrelevant or confusing. And to others, it is humorous and brings up the image of Hippies dropping Acid and communing with Nature, or Naturist Ewell Gibbons eating Tree bark on the "Tonight Show". To me, I see Druids sacrificing Babies to the Tree Gods in Thuringia. Or something like that.  I will skewer, slash and burn Sanders Green Ideology, mainly for fun, but also as an act of L...

Ideology, Categories, and Radical Nominalism-- Part 2. "Living in the Moment" is Living Death

If you haven't read Part 1 yet, you'll need to back out, bring that up and give it a read, since I laid the groundwork there for what follows. I've probably succeeded in offending most people so far. If I haven't I'll go back to the drawing board and try harder. --LFR So, you are wondering, why all of this hubbub over one person, and one word. Ugh.  Does anyone remember the Charlie Chaplin film when the "Little Tramp" picked up a fallen Red Warning Flag hanging from the back of a lumber truck, when he ran down the street chasing the truck to give it back? Within five minutes, he had a mob of hundreds chasing behind him, half of which to lynch him, and the other half hoping he was leading them to a workers revolution.  That brings us to Bernie Sanders. So called Democratic "Socialist".  Bernie has had a long and largely unproductive political career, as the elected Senator from the Land of Ben and Jerry, Vermont. Vermont, as you know, is a very di...

Ideology, Categories, and Radical Nominalism: What's in a Name, Besides Everything? Part 1

Unfortunately, as the US economy has transitioned from being an Agro-Industrial producer, into that of a Post Industrial economy of consumers, employed in the "Information Age",  or Alvin Toffler's "Fourth Wave", there has been an alarming trend. That is, a general erosion of our powers of judgement, as increasingly our economic views are shaped by short term thinking, and the need for instant gratification. For many Boomers, influenced by the Existentialists, History begins the day we are born, and ends the day we die, and what is before or after is...nothingness. Heidegger described this as "throwness", the idea that Humankind doesn't control its destiny but we are thrown into this world against our will, and our lifetime path is determined by random interaction. This thinking influenced many of us Boomers, and we transmitted it to the next generation. Again, not everyone consciously adopted this view, but we were surrounded by it, and the effect...

Tulsi Gabbard : Neo-Con Trojan Horse in Democratic Party

Most politically astute people are aware of Ms. Gabbard's sketchy track record going back years, in which she has covered for and given credibility to the Assad regime in Syria, rationalized the actions of Russia and Vladimir Putin in his support for the Assad government, and opposed the Impeachment of Trump based on her own convoluted political world view, in which she deemed it destabilizing and ineffective, and voted "not present" to avoid taking a side either way. There are other issues as well where she is in gross divergence with her own constituency, as well as the Democratic leadership, which is why she is now too unpopular even to keep her own seat, and is not bothering to run for re-election. So what is she doing? Well, at this point, my informed guess is that she is auditioning for a spot as commentator on Fox News, to which she has given numerous friendly interviews cast as an "opposition Democrat." There's no other reason to continue her campaig...

London Guardian Signal Piece-- Trump Campaign Will Attack Biden's Mental Health

In a surreal speech given by Trump in Scranton PA, sponsored by Fox News, Trump made reference to some of Biden's recent gaffes, and called into question his cognitive health, saying, "Somethings going on there".  Earlier this year, 350 Psychiatrists signed an open letter expressing their concern about Trump's deteriorating mental health, his rages, paranoia, slurring of speech, inability to process information, and erratic behavior. Likewise, former administration officials have confided on background similar concerns.  The lazy minded idiots of the Media and their Political Correctness enforcement Police will pile on in a cynical and snarky fashion with diatribes about the two Old, Senile, White Men who wound up as our Nominees, and that neither are appreciably different. The Sanders camp will feed into this by bashing Biden's record going back 40 years on Medicare, Social Security, the Iraq War, and infinitum, and paint a picture of Biden as " Trump Lite...
