Comments on "Just Security" Article 7/27/2020 re: The Durham Investigation-Has Russian Intelligence Co-opted US Intel Community?

People should read this article from "Just Security", to be forewarned that Barr and Durham are currently acting to "weaponize" the DOJ, to not only defend Trump's criminal actions, but to investigate, prosecute, and jail Trump's enemies pro-actively. They are currently attempting to deconstruct the entirety of the Russia investigations, the Mueller investigations, and the impeachment, for the purpose of destroying the mutual enemies of Trump and Vladimir Putin. I've been following this because of my previous involvement with people who are currently aiding and assisting Barr and Durham. I'm referring to a group named VIPS, "Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity", which is comprised of retired officials of our national security Apparatus. My old outfit worked with them in the early 2000's, holding joint press conferences with Ray McGovern and others to oppose torture, renditioning, and White House politicization of intel...

Today in History, July 27 1861, Lincoln appoints General George B. McClellan head of Army of Potomac

Image
Today in History, July 27, 1861,  General McClellan named head of the Army of the Potomac. Replacing General McDowell, General George B. McClellan was appointed by Lincoln with the hope that he would more aggressively engage Lee's Army of Virginia, and put a quick end to the rebellion and set about the task of reuniting the Union. His appointment was based on his background in "Big War Science", and his experience in organizing Railroad projects which supposedly made him expert in logistics.  Unfortunately, McClellan did the opposite, in large part. After the Peninsula Campaign, McClellan dug in. There were questions about his commitment to prosecuting the War, as he was opposed to Emancipation. He was risk averse, and preoccupied with "spit and polish", endlessly practicing regimentation and maneuvers, marching  assembling, etc. He had what Lincoln called a case of "the slows". Much of his strategy was based on the advice of his Secret Servi...

The Dirty, Dirty Secret of How Putin Came to Power

Image
Many people ask me about the apparent control Vladimir Putin has over Donald Trump .  I wouldn't call it control, more like "profiled behavior". Based on Trump's psychological profile, he is easily played, misled, misdirected, gamed, and essentially is operating as an Agent of Influence, or Asset.  Here's a short lead in to my next Videocast. Do you know the background for how Putin became President of Russia? In September of 1999, so-called Chechen Terrorists blew up apartment buildings with Russian civilians, killing and injuring thousands.  https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russian_apartment_bombings#:~:text=The%20Russian%20apartment%20bombings%20were,of%20fear%20across%20the%20country . Former KGB Lt. Col. Vladimir Putin, who had become FSB head, later Deputy Prime Minister, was appointed Prime Minister by Yeltsin, and Acting President when Yeltsin resigned. Putin directed the Russian response to the bombings, which became known as the 2nd Chechen War, ac...

Today in History, July 17, 1918- Czar of Russia and Family Executed

Today in History, July 17, 1918, Execution of the Romanovs, the Czar and Czaritsa of Russia and their Children by the Soviet Government. Today in History, July 17, 1918, Execution of the Romanovs, the Czar and Czaritsa of Russia and their Children by the Soviet Government. By July 1918, Russia was engulfed in a hellish civil war which would cost millions of lives and damage a country already reeling from the devastation of World War I. Swept away in this hellfire was the old Tsarist monarchy, last headed by Nicholas II. Nicholas had abdicated in 1917 as the Russian Revolution swept through the nation. Since then he had been a prisoner of successive governments, first the Provisional Government and then the administration run by Vladimir Lenin and the Bolsheviks. The Romanovs were shipped from place to place, eventually coming to Yekaterinburg in April, in the Urals, an area known for its hard Communist sympathies. As the White Russian forces grew closer, Lenin and his associates ordere...

Today in History, July 18, 1906, Birthday of American Playwright, Clifford Odets

Image
Today in History, July 18, 1906 Birthday of American Playwright, Clifford Odets Odets, from Philadelphia became the 20th Century's heir to Eugene O'Neill as the preeminent Social commentator of the Depression Era Writers. His Communist then Socialist background flowed from his commitment to exposing corruption, greed, materialism, and injustice.  His career at first as an actor, then writer was mentored by the famous Acting teacher for theater and film, Lee Strasberg, the founder of the school of "Method Acting", which has produced many of our greatest Actors. Odets learned from Strasberg how to both act and write for Method actors.  Some of his most famous works were "The Big Knife", ( my favorite) "Golden Boy", "Waiting for Lefty", and "Awake and Sing". The latter was the most successful "Jewish Play" outside of Yiddish Theater, and launched his career. Several of his plays were made into films, starring Ca...

British MI-6 Joins Biden Campaign

Talley Ho, the Hunt is underway! BBC, otherwise known as the public voice of the Liberal Wing of British Inteligence, is about to weigh in on Putin's operations of the last few years. The opportunity comes with the announcement that relevant Intelligence committees of the British Parliament are releasing their Report on Russian interference in the British Elections, the Brexit referendum, and additional tidbits. This may or may not hurt Boris Johnson, but I don't think that is the intent. If they wanted to pull the plug on Johnson, they would just bring out a Sex Scandal. (They all have one, you know)  That's how the British Establishment conducts regime change historically. In the UK, the Queen's tabloid addicted subjects are far more interested in Sex than politics, so it is therefore the preferred way to do a "changing of the guard". Indeed, as a long time observer, I believe the Brits are bringing this out now to shake up their "Cousins across the...

Today in History, July 15, 1606-- Birth of Rembrandt van Rijn

Image
Today in History, July 15, 1606, Birthday of Rembrandt van Rijn ^Considered one of the greatest painters and printmakers in European art and the most important in Dutch history. His contributions to art came in a period of great wealth and cultural achievement that historians call the Dutch Golden Age when Dutch Golden Age painting, although in many ways antithetical to the Baroque style that dominated Europe, was extremely prolific and innovative, and gave rise to important new genres in painting. Born: July 15, 1606 Birthplace: Leiden, Netherlands Star Sign: Cancer Died: October 4, 1669 (aged 63) ^source, "On This Day" Historical Events *Below are excerpts from previous comments I've made on Rembrandt's work.  Rembrandt' self portraits were a spiritual exercise in self consciousness, in which he approached his own likeness as a confessional. In his oils, and etchings, he depicted his own face while younger as shrouded in darkness, as an ...

How the Nazis Campaigned for Restoring the Death Penalty to Win Elections

How the Nazis Campaigned for Restoring the Death Penalty In Germany to Win Elections-- --by Lance Rosen September of 1989 ---"Brutality is respected...The People need wholesome fear, they want to fear something. They want something to frighten them and make them shudderingly submissive. Haven't you seen everywhere that after the Beer Hall battles, those who have been beaten are the first to join the Party as new members? Why babble about brutality and get indignant about tortures? They need something that will give them a thrill of Horror."---            ----Adolf Hitler to Goering on his Oratorical Methods, 1927  note* I wrote this Article 31 years ago. I am transcribing it here, with a few edits, to share and circulate in light of the Supreme Court Decision yesterday, July 14, which allowed the execution of Daniel Lewis Lee in Terre Haute Indiana, the first Federal Execution in 17 years. Lee had a credible claim of innocence, and there ...

Today in History, July 14, 1789-- Bastille Day

Image
Today in History, July 14, 1789-- Bastille Day Of all the monumental events in the French Revolution, none is more iconic than the storming of the Bastille prison on 14 July 1789. The Bastille was a prison and fortress, and although it only contained seven prisoners at the time it was overrun, it was a potent symbol of the Ancien Regime and its power and corruption. When the Bastille fell the Revolution kicked into full gear and would not subside for another ten years, permanently changing the face of France and influencing politics, philosophy and society in Europe and beyond for centuries after. July 14 is Bastille Day in France - a national public holiday.

from February 29, 2020--The Growing Threat of Nazis in Trump's America

Image
Yes, there are Nazis in America now, as there were in the 1930's.   In the 1930's, there were several factors which enabled sympathies for Fascism to become a large movement, which was called not coincidentally, America First. First some background. It was fronted by Radio Personality Father Charles Coughlin, the Rush Limbaugh of his day, and flier Charles Lindbergh. It was funded by anti-Semitic Industrialist Henry Ford. Banker J.P. Morgan was enamored of both Italian and German Fascism, and wanted to transplant their system here in response to the Depression.  America First masked their pro-Nazi sympathies by campaigning to stop immigration, and opposing US actions against the Fascist takeover of Europe. J.P. Morgan also funded a plot to use a march of disgruntled War Veterans under the auspices of the American Legion to organize a Coup plot to overthrow Franklin Roosevelt and install a Fascist Military Dictatorship under the leadership of Marine General Smed...

From March 5, 2020--Today in History, March 5 1953--Thoughts on Josef Stalin on the Anniversary of his Death

Image
Today in History, March 5, 1953--67 years ago today, Soviet Dictator Joseph Stalin died .  Born Josef Djugashvilli in the Capitol of Georgia, Tblisi, he changed his last name to Stalin (translation, Steel) after leaving his Orthodox Monastery where he trained for the Priesthood. His rise to power was accompanied by a River of blood as most people know. You may have read of his genocide against Ukraine. What's notable is the manner in which his reign as a virtual Czar resonated the dark side of Russian/ Easte rn  culture, the Paranoia and scheming in particular. He demanded total loyalty, or you were killed or forced into exile. Regularly he would purge his own government, executing the very people who over years assisted his rise, just because he was having a bad moment. There were two camps, friend and enemy. Enemies were taken to the basement of Lubyanka Prison run by KGB, and were shot in the back of the head. Some were cremated alive. Before WWII, out of sheer ...
