My Thoughts on Trump's and the Evangelicals' Deep Anti-Semitism
The Rosen Report-Archived Article On Trump, The Anti-Semite: (edited for clarity and typos)
August 20, 2020--
Speaking of anti-semitism, I've never been an observant Jew, and was raised in a non-religious home. Lately though, I've worn a Star of David. Part of it is pride in my heritage, as the great-grandson of Jewish refugees who came through Ellis Island, and another part is to say "f**k you" to Nazis and other anti-semites.
The Nazis in America today are what they are, pathetic, potentially dangerous and sick people who go through life as damaged goods, and need someone, some group to blame for their own failures in life.
I have a bigger problem with the right-wing evangelicals and fundamentalists who believe Donald Trump is the "Annointed One". They say they LOVE Israel and the Jewish people. Well, yes, they love us to death. Literally. There are some real nasty cultists out there, anti-semitic through and through, emanating from places like the darbyite Dallas Baptist Theological Seminary, a real spawning ground over the 19th and 20th centuries for armageddonists and their many varieties of mass psychosis.
Some of these darbyite groups are actually intelligence operations, which under cover as Biblical archeologists and scholars, have been digging around the Al Asqa "Dome of the Rock" Mosque, (one of the holiest sites in all Islam) for decades, supposedly to gather relics and give them some history on the last destruction of the Temple of Solomon. On more than one occasion, Israeli authorities have acted to prevent these "archeologists" from tunneling under the Mosque to plant explosives, in order to blow it up, and provoke a religious war in Jerusalem. You may get where I'm going with this.
At the heart of evangelicals outpouring of "love" for Israel and Jews is the belief that we are instruments of "God's Will" in fulfilling Bible prophecy, as laid out in their interpretation of the Book of Revelations. In other words, these "Christians" need to keep us around so that we can start or fight the "Battle of Armageddon," in order to precipitate the "Second Coming" of Jesus, the "End Times," and "The Rapture." Of course, after we Jews are used in this fashion, those of us who do not convert to Christianity at this time are to be cast into a lake of fire to burn in Hell for all eternity.
So, many of the evangelicals see themselves as helping God to, in effect, close on the most important real estate deal in all history, but first they need to hire Jewish arsonists to start the insurance fire that enables them to get rid of the existing tenants, and then move in to "develop" it. All cloaked under the cover of their "spiritual values". If you doubt this, just ask a right-wing "End Times" Christian what happens to the Jews who don't convert, and you will have your answer. It means end times for the Jews. And they enthusiastically support the most extreme and war-mongerung religious parties in Israel in order to fulfill their own twisted version of Bible prophecy, in order to "speed the process along."
Which brings us to the "Schmuck-in-Chief" currently aligning himself with this evangelical formation of Jew-haters, given his deeply held and oft-stated belief in Christian p***y, er, principles. He also claims to love Jews and Israel, and will obscenely promote his "gonif" of a Son-in-Law Kushner as his validation on all things Israel.
Well, this could be the subject of a book, but I will try to keep this short. Trump idealizes and admires what he describes as Jewish positive attributes, which consist of all of the disgusting anti-semitic tropes which we Jews have come to recognize as attacks over many years. What he has said publicly is that he admires our money making ability and ferocity as negotiators in business, our ability to dominate the legal profession, and willingness to do anything, both legal or shady, to protect our business. He has praised the Israeli racist right-wing parties for their willingness to crush the skulls of Palestinians, demolish their housing, and destroy their families, projecting his personal racism onto the Jewish State, living vicariously through Netanyahu, who is the dictator Trump wishes to be. He praises Israel for assassinating their enemies, their facility for espionage, and the Israeli Defense Forces obedience in carrying out whatever they are told to do, whether it violates human rights or not.
In fact, he projects the entirety of his soulless hatred and prejudice onto Judaism which are those aspects of behavior which actually are anathema, and unholy in the eyes of the majority of actual Jews. He does this, like everything, to rationalize his own behavior.
Read about what Trump, the great "Chosen One" actually says about Jews. Nowhere do you see anything about the strength of our families, our commitment to ongoing higher education, our generosity in giving to charities, (unlike his fake ones) our majority of opposition historically to slavery and racism, our role in financing and joining hands with the Civil Rights movement, and shedding Jewish blood in support of those human rights. Also emphatically our commitment to defending the rule of law, as typified by Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and her predecessors in the fight for Civil Rights. Where does Trump speak of Jewish scientists and scholars? Does he ever reference Jewish writers or philosophers such as Moses Mendelsohn, who translated the classics like Plato's Dialogues into German, Hebrew, and Yiddish. Does he even know who Sholem Aleichem was? "Isn't that a Synagogue on the Upper East Side, oh yeah, Roy Cohn belonged there."
No, none of that interests him. He likes reading about Mossad assassins who go out and kill people. He likes finding Jewish lawyers with connections to protect his fat orange behind. But, in point of fact, he, the great defender of Israel, the man who LOVES the Jews, who has the Jewish Son-in-Law and the shiksa daughter who converted to "Gucci Judaism", (a branch of Ultra-Reform) is just another vicious anti-semite, who thinks he is so clever in using a few of us. He is about to discover how wrong he is, about that and a few other things too.
