We Need A DOJ National Security Investigation Of The "Freedom Caucus," Starting Yesterday: 

Go After The Russian Moles

My reply to Professor HCR's letter from this morning--

 I think its time that a question is in need of asking; "are the Freedom Caucus Congressmen who are threatentening to use the debt ceiling to push the US into default influenced directly by Vladimir Putin and Russian intelligence?" 

The economic and strategic damage to the United States and our NATO allies which they are now preparing to unleash is much worse than them simply lacking the skills to govern. They are, along with Trump himself, the single most dangerous threat to our national security and stability as a democracy. They have already stated their intention to defund US military assistance to Ukraine to the benefit of Putin's war aims, as well as the FBI, (effectively blinding federal law enforcement and its intelligence functions) along with Social Security, Medicare, and a significant part of our social safety net. They intend to paralyze the executive branch of our government through multiple impeachments and investigations.  In effect, they intend to use their control of the House as would terrorist hostage takers, with the threat of pushing the US into default to demand the dismantling of the most essential functions of our government, both at home and abroad.  Imagine if the GOP had done something like this during WWII. 

We have seen extensively verified and official documentation of MAGA operating as Putin's "Fifth Column" in the US since 2015. The interfaces between MAGA's leadership, including but not limited to Trump, Tucker Carlson of Fox, Steve Bannon, leaders of CPAC and other actors of the hard right, are manifold and well established. The national security crisis which they are planning to create now, I believe, demands the DOJ ask for FISA Court warrants in order launch a full investigation of several of these Congressmen, who are still engaged in a kind of continuous January 6th insurrection, attacking the seat of our government nearly two years to the day after their coup, which was back then aided and abetted by these same figures. 

It is urgent to ascertain whether they are part of a foreign intelligence operation run from Moscow, and implement measures to neutralize such operations through legal means. Ask the question,  "who would be the leading beneficiary were the US to be plunged into political chaos?" The answer; follow the money to Russia. The MAGA apparatus and their tools in Congress are a hostile enemy force, not really American in any discernable way. So, who is running them becomes the central matter for investigation, in my view. 

Somehow, people have gotten the idea that this attempted fascist takeover of Congress by the Freedom Caucus is a good thing, funny even, that the GOP and Trump are just destroying themselves and that we should sit back, make popcorn and enjoy it. It is one thing to ridicule and pile on the pathetic Kevin McCarthy, who has grovelled to kiss so many rear-ends to get the Speaker's gavel that he is now qualified for a new job in Proctology, should he need to begin looking for a career change. That is an ironic object lesson which does in fact verge upon being humorous. However, many childish people in the media and Democratic Party are spinning the line that a GOP Civil War is good.  In reality this is a strategic catastrophe in the making. And even worse, the damage they've done thus far pales in comparison to what they intend to do once they finally get around to anointing their new speaker, whoever it is.

The Freedom Caucus should be treated as a possibly foreign influenced terrorist support entity which will produce mass casualties, not as a clown show form of entertainment, which seems to be the popular social media view of what is being done to our Congress at the moment. This is not a Netflix series for us to binge on, rather a constitutional and existential crisis. We need an institutional response urgently.

Milton Friedman- The Man Who Revived Fascist Economics, and Called It "Freedom".

  You may have heard the name before, as he was featured in a PBS Series, titled "Free To Choose", also the title of his most famous and misnamed book. He was a prolific author, and widely publicized by Conservative News Media and Magazines, especially by the followers of William F. Buckley. In fact, Milton Friedman is the current top economic advisor to the so-called "movement conservatives", from Nixon to Reagan, to Newt Gingrich and Trumpworld,  and is still to this day the main architect of the GOP approach to dealing with the present economic crisis, though he has been keeping a low profile. A very low profile. In fact, six feet under. How Do You Know If What You Are Reading Is True Or Useful? - A One Year Old Facebook Post

 How do we know whether what we are reading is true, or for that matter useful? There are many journalists in the US today who are not only excellent writers, but are just good people. They are well informed, have the best intentions and are highly professional.  I have to force myself to write, and it comes with great difficulty because I am blocked, and had little journalistic training. Without an editor I feel lost, and feel as though I want to rewrite everything or throw it out after I read it. Reading books and articles is my favorite hobby, and when I'm doing that I am in my happy place.  As of now I have 30 News and Magazine sites bookmarked and I read them everyday as a routine. I usually read anywhere from 2-10 articles in each, depending upon what newsworthy events are breaking that day. Plus I have a number of books on history that I have going at any one time.
