Tucker Carlson Is A Serious National Security Threat--
Tucker Carlson is inciting bomb threats and violent attacks on medical centers and Healthcare facilities providing services to trans youth, accusing them of sexualizing children and performing horrible medical experiments on them. This accusation comes from the heir to the Swanson Foods Fortune, whose TV dinners were themselves the equivalent of chemical warfare experiments against the American population.
He has interviewed the head of "Libs of TikTok" Chaya Raichik, which is an anti-LGBTQ radical group, already implicated in organizing bomb threats against hospitals. Raichik is an Orthodox Jewish woman from Brooklyn who marched side-by-side with Nazis wearing "Camp Auschwitz " tee-shirts at the Capitol attack on January 6th. She was elevated from troll-nothingness by Fox's "podophile" podcasting pod person, Joe Rogan, and has become influential over millions of psycho-religious conservatives online.
Just in case people haven't noticed, Carlson has become more brazen in advocating and inciting violence from his viewers. And it has absolutely nothing to do with children's well being. It is violence with a purpose far more dangerous, which is to fuel a hot civil war in the US in response to the coming indictment of Donald Trump.
There are certain things worth keeping in mind as Carlson's pattern becomes even more illegal and destructive.
1. Carlson is an agent of Russian influence, Putin's "Voice of America" propagandist of choice for Russian State TV. Strategically, Putin's years long interference in US politics has been intended to stoke paralyzing division, violence and chaos, and he has to a great degree been the not so hidden hand behind his asset Trump's MAGA apparatus. That is primarily Carlson's identity and job, not that of "anti-LGBTQ crusader. That is for him a "gig," whereas in actuality his role as a chaos agent on behalf of Putin is who he is.
2. His network Fox, owned by the Murdochs, while still keeping their fingers in the MAGA pie for ratings and financial reasons, has dumped Donald Trump as their candidate and aligned with DeSantis. What Carlson is doing is harnessing the MAGA horse's asses to his own personal wagon, irrespective of Trump's personal fate.
3. Carlson wants violence between Left and Right. Everything he does is a provocation which is designed not simply to incite right-wing violence, but to provoke a left-wing counter-violence in response. His actual goal is not to radicalize MAGA, though that is a result of what he does. It is to radicalize the Left. Like many greedy racist authoritarians, Carlson is power-hungry and wants to be President, and intends to ride the left-wing violence he is trying to bring into existence to the White House, if not in 2024, 2028. Chaos, specifically inciting the Left is his goal, not policy, not votes for candidates, not public morality, not Fox's success.
4. Carlson in his attacks verging on threats against everything and everyone "woke" is following a script, and doesn't even care about the culture war issues he is pushing. Repeat, he doesn't even care. He is gaming Trump and his idiotic supporters. Carlson, by getting behind the key themes of "saving the children" pushed by QAnon is paralleling Trump's moves in the same direction, embracing the violent cult as has Trump recently.
5. He is doing two things simultaneously; capitalizing on the MAGA rage against Biden and the FBI in the aftermath of the MAL raid, and encouraging Trump to increase further the violence in his rhetoric. That way, when the violence happens, it will be blamed on Trump and used to discredit him. Carlson wants Trump out of the way to open the door for the "more sane and respectable" DeSantis and himself. He is maneuvering to become the new head of MAGA when Trump goes down legally. The violence he is talking into existence serves Putin's and his own interests equally. Trump is a used kleenex about to be thrown away, and Carlson is Putin's new boy.
6. The violence that Carlson is inciting against LGBTQ persons is real, as are the threats against Healthcare providers, also directed against those in women's reproductive health. This is and should be a law enforcement issue. Carlson is arrogant, believes his ratings and the First Amendment are his impregnable shield, and pushes the envelope of violent incitement further every day. If and when this violence comes to fruitition, Carlson should be prosecuted. And that is a question of political will.
7. There are legal and historical precedents for shutting him down, or what is now euphemistically called "deplatforming." During the opening phases of WW 2, pro-Nazi radio priest Father Charles Coughlin was taken off of the air when pressure from the Roosevelt administration, combined with threats of prosecution for sedition, forced advertisers and stations to cancel him or be branded "fifth columnists." Broadcasting Hitler propagandists during wartime was illegal, and corporations doing so could be tried under various Federal statutes. Carlson, to put it simply, is today a serious national security threat. Our intelligence agencies know this, and there has been public acknowledgement that Carlson has been caught in an NSA surveillance op implicating him in suspicious communication with Russian figures. Rep. Kevin McCarthy has vowed to investigate the Biden administration to find out why Carlson turned up on NSA's radar if he becomes House Speaker. Don't let him become House Speaker, and keep their hands off the NSA (and the FBI and IRS) so they can do their jobs.
8. The various American groups and organizations which identify as Left, far Left, progressive, anarchist or socialists cannot take the bait. They must stick with non-violent political action, and do those things which have proven effective both in the past history of labor, women, and civil rights, as well as the modern internet era campaigns against disinformation and lies. They cannot allow themselves to be played by the Russian neo-fascist game masters into becoming cannon fodder for the Carlson/Trump/Armageddonist wet dream of a bloody final conflict. They need to organize for a non-violent resistance, and not give them the civil war they want and need.
9. We, the resistance to what Carlson and company represent must keep our eyes on the prize. We have the general outlines of a program, a working concept of a better future, a mission to defend the principles and institutions of democracy, and a competent enough White House leadership to rally around. Resist we must, but persist all the more on behalf of what we need and want, not just "against" them. Take them out of the picture by overrunning them politically. Don't walk into their traps, go with our shared agenda as our lead edge.
