There are three kinds of anti-semites. Those who are passive, meaning that they have accepted and tolerated a variety of anti-semitic tropes, which they have absorbed through their upbringing, religious or social environment, and to which they never strongly object, while not however believing themselves to be bigots. Then there are ideological anti-semites, who have incorporated these beliefs as part of their intellectual identity, and extend them into their social, political or religious lives in a way which shapes their philosophy, if not their politics. These are people who need conspiracy theories to make sense of a world which they are too intellectually lazy to investigate, or try to understand. They need a scapegoat to blame for their problems.  

And then there are those who are livid anti-semites, who are driven by actual hatred to demonize, exclude, slander, incite violence, and who are motivated to accumulate power in furtherance of their designs. Included in their intentions is a desire to eliminate Jews from public life, because they are, in their view, the source of most economic, social and political problems of society. They are active anti-semites, and they find fulfillment in doing bad things to Jews. 

Elon Musk is no passive anti-semite. He patronizes actual Nazis. This is not new, but it is increasingly dangerous given his strategic alliance with the worst of the alt-right extremists to whom he is granting most favored commentator status since his Twitter takeover. His open enabling of Tucker Carlson as his new TV host reflects his decision to promote Carlson's version of the neo-nazi "replacement theory."

I first realized what a pig this guy was when he attacked the leader of the rescue mission for the Thai boys soccer team which was trapped in a cave several years ago as a "Pedo." Why? Because the rescuer said they couldn't use the mini-sub Musk ordered built because it would not fit through the cave tunnel. A Pedo! "What a stinking rotten pile of crap egomaniac bastard this guy is," was my thought at the time.  

Only later did I become more aware of his extreme right harboring of neo-nazi beliefs, and his political alignment with the worst of the MAGA political sphere. 

There is a popular belief, which I frankly find disgusting, that so-called "genius" is next to madness. In short, it is neo-Freudian junk psychology, which argues that most geniuses are inherently extremely neurotic people, who in the course of trying to sublimate their neuroses, find creative outlets for their mental illness in a variety of fields, be it art, music, mathematics, acting, or even literature. In other words, the theory is that neurosis itself is the source of genius and the more neurotic the better, that it is something to be treasured! The term "twisted genius" is thrown about cavalierly as a truism, and is accepted as normal. 

Several people in these categories automatically come to mind, such as the violent abuser of women and control freak, artist Pablo Picasso, or the "Unabomber" Ted Kaczynski, he of the 167 IQ and math prodigy.  Based on this logic, Alfred Hitchcock's Norman Bates should have resolved the field/particle paradox and have a building at MIT named after him, or his mother. If he were an actual person. 

The same logic has recently attempted to describe people who have the autism/Asperger's spectrum disorder as possessing a "superpower" because of it, with a variety of attempts by media and filmakers to exploit this theme commercially. There is no question that many folks on the spectrum are geniuses, or differently abled, and are not socially oriented, but there has been a popular culture narrative tied to it which many who are on the spectrum find disturbing. In their case, they are not mentally ill, but have a syndrome which varies in types and degree with each person. 

This is relevant because in the case of many of Musk's defenders, they whitewash his bigotry and hatred by claiming he's just different, because he's "on the spectrum." If true,, that's no excuse for his aggressively hateful and seditious conduct, and anyone who pushes that line should get an earful from some of my friends with similar issues who will never use that as justification to act like a malignant asshole. 

Yes, there were indeed geniuses who were sick individuals. But it is emphatically wrong to assert that being evil is part of or is causally related to genius, and likewise that mental illness is a prerequisite to attaining it. Genius, as a characteristic, necessarily depends upon other people to be considered as such, and whether those people objectively benefit on balance from the fruits of that genius. Often, such actual geniuses labor in obscurity and suffer great adversity, to never be recognized until late in life, or in the case of J. S. Bach, decades after their deaths. This is an unfortunate but real fact of history. 

A person who is an ambitious, greedy, rage-driven sociopath and misanthrope, who is either indifferent or hostile to those who happen to not recognize his or her genius, is most often no genius at all. Rather, they are skilled in the art of competitive warfare in acquiring others creative work and incorporating it into their own, with marginal improvements, in order to take credit for it and herald it as theirs. They don't do what they do to benefit people, as they are too ego-driven to relate to others except in order to use them. Such is provably the case with our subject, Elon Musk, all of his protestations about his idealistic vision for the future notwithstanding. Most of what comes out of his mouth about progress and the future is just hype, primarily  intended to push upward the value of his company's stock.

Or, in some cases they are driven by untethered nihilism, an obsessive compulsion to overturn or surpass the theories or work of others. Such individuals often suffer extreme Oedipal neurosis, who isolate themselves in barely suppressed anger and resentment that they will never live up to the standard of the domineering father. The best example of history's most infamous Oedipal so-called genius was gifted with the art of oratory, and the ability to install the false hope of a glorious future in the hearts of millions of people. That was Adolf Hitler, whose narcissistic personality disorder is often mischaracterized as "evil genius. "

"Oh, but didn't Hitler do good things," was the question Donald Trump asked his Chief of Staff General John Kelly? The Autobahn, the Volkswagen, the long range rocket, V-2, jet propulsion, etc? "I mean, he was a genius, right?"

No. Hitler was a feral beast and a very clever one, and a lousy watercolor artist. He never created a thing, but what he did do was incite people to violence on a mass scale, like a gang leader organizing turf wars. Accumulating vast unchecked power is not a legitimate end for an actual genius. A genius is someone who works extremely hard to selflessly develop their talent or gift, and does so with the benefit of others at heart. If they have no higher motivation other than self-advancement, they are merely very talented. And if they have a sadistic personality disorder or are otherwise abusive, they are merely very talented predators. 

I, for one, will never accept the idea that a person's life's work should be viewed as separate from their identity. What people do is who they are. And there is a point which is reached when the balance swings, and the contributions thst such people as Musk make are in the long run outweighed by the harm they cause. In effect, their good works are more by accident than design, as they pursue their egoistic campaign of hostile acquisition of wealth, power, status, and pleasure, at the net expense of civil society as a whole. 

What good will a manned space rocket do for a nation which it's so-called inventor is currently trying to embroil in a bloody Civil War, in pursuit of an authoritarian system. Don't be fooled by the Libertarian jive-ass profile as a "free speech absolutist." He's demonstrated with his reign of terror and purges on Twitter that he purchased it in order to give free speech to Nazis. 

And now, like your garden variety anti-semites which inhabit the environs of Alex Jones, QAnon, the KKK, MAGA, and the Nazi Party, Musk has taken up Jew bashing with his targeting of Soros, a "Jewish Banker" as the hater of civilization that unleashed the "woke virus."

This is why as unpleasant as it is, people should re-read Hitler's "Mein Kampf." Too many people today, because of our distance timewise from the Holocaust, wouldn't recognize a Nazi if one bit them on the ass. 

I'm here for the reason that I'll never accept this as a "normal" default condition, and I'm going to get in people's faces about it until they are "woke." Awake, that is, to our imminent fascist threat, which is being brought to us in part with the conniving of the "great genius" Elon Musk. 

Yeah, I'm just one person, a "little guy" and certainly no genius. But that is where resistance starts.
