Former US Attorney Preet Bhahara Daily Beast Interview: "There Is No DOJ Investigation Of Trump"

Please, Just Give It Up And Stop Cheerleading-- by Lance Rosen

I've run into a number of internet trolls and desperate people who have madly defended the Attorney General and administration by claiming they ARE building a case against Trump, "but of course we don't know about it because it's so closely guarded, and it's taking so long because they are making sure to get it right, and make it airtight".

This is the "Area 51" argument. As in, "we know there are Aliens in storage there because of the lengths to which they have gone to in order to keep it secret". It is a vague hope wrapped in a wishful delusion being spread by "positive spinmeisters". And many of our citizens are so frightened by the coming bloody conflict that they grab onto it like it's the very last flotation device on the Titanic, because their psychological well being in some way depends upon it.

According to former US Attorney Preet Bhahara in his "Daily Beast" interview linked here, there are zero indications of any attempt at questioning Trump, Meadows or his inner circle. None. Read the Daily Beast article below, and add this to the assessment of others like Lawrence Tribe who are highly connected people and are saying the same. These are friends of Garland and Biden supporters saying this, not Fox News hosts.

My view of it is the following: The Trump legal status is being left in the hands of the House Select Committee which will recommend an indictment, which in actuality has no force of law behind it. Unless there is some indication soon of direct DOJ investigation or a Grand Jury, it means two things--

First is that Biden and Garland are agreed that any criminal prosecutions of Trump and his inner circle are to be left to State and local prosecutors, to shield the administration from charges that they are engaged in political retribution. They have agreed to this out of the justifiable belief that a criminal indictment of Trump by the DOJ would trigger a bloody Civil conflict.

Second is that the ultimate purpose of the House Committee is to produce a bombshell report before the 2022 election in order to undermine Trump's personal grip on the Republican Party, and make the election a referendum on Trump. The Democrats believe that since the administration has not delivered on their two biggest programs, Voting Rights legislation and Build Back Better, that the Committee Report is mainly what they have to go with in order to avoid a mid-term wipeout. The two Republicans on the committee hope that a GOP liberated from Trump's influence can recover to it's previous role of representing traditional conservative policies.

There is no question that the final Committee report will be Earth shattering. But will it be decisive? Not unless the DOJ indicts Trump and his inner circle, and soon. The fact that a year has passed and there is no sign of any DOJ attempt to question or obtain information directly from the highest level instigators and planners of January 6th should tell you a few things which are obvious. Bhahara in his interview makes the obvious point that given the character of Trump and his minions, that if such efforts had been made, we would already know about it.

Because Trump and his terrorist/fascist movement are such a threat to the nation, many Biden supporters are reacting out of fear, anger, and indignation at criticisms of Garland and the Administration out of belief that such criticism serves the purposes of the Biden haters. They are circling the wagons and cheerleading for Biden's "positive accomplishments which are wildly popular but get buried under all the negativity".

I'm sorry to say that the continuing effects of such pragmatic and myopic thinking are the basis for a catastrophic failure of Trump's opposition, comparable to the failure of the German Social Democrats and Center Parties to contain Adolf Hitler and the Nazis in the 20's and 30's. (A history I've documented in dozens of articles on my Blog, "The Rosen Report")

This does not necessarily mean that it is over and a tragic end is assured for the US. What is implied is that the traditional means through which politics, government, and the administration of Justice are practiced are no longer viable. It means that we are in a pre-revolutionary period, not unlike that which we saw 33 years ago with the collapse of the East bloc economies and political systems, such that the political map of the Eurasian land mass was unrecognizable within a three year time frame.  (Literally all of the world's Maps became obsolete!) Likewise, the entirety of the world's balance of power shifted within months of the East German revolution and what followed. In other words, we are in the midst of a political cataclysm which could actually have a positive outcome in the best of all possible worlds, if we are attuned to it and act accordingly.

We are living through a roughly analogous situation today. When I read coverage such as this interview and other public statements like that of retired General Paul Eaton, warning of a military revolt against President Biden and civil war, I remind myself to speak out and pull no punches, even if it means losing friends and readers and becoming a lone voice.

The most important thing is to not give up hope, rather to give up our delusions and rise above the paralyzing fear which can overwhelm and blind us. We need some level headed thinking in these times, not "helicoptering". (a new Millennial expression, 😉)

So in that spirit, I'm going to go do some cooking, work on some stretching and zone out. Hope y'all have a good one!
