The Crisis I See Coming Between Now And 9-11

Image
August 31, 2021 I want to state clearly what my assessment is of the next 2-3 weeks, in such a way that it will be remembered, without any ambiguity. And I also want to say how much I really didn't want to write this. At all.  It is likely that there will be a national wave of terrorist attacks throughout the US in the time frame leading up to the 20th Anniversary of 9-11. This 20th Anniversary date is being described as "Patriots Day" by the hundreds of thousands of heavily armed militants who sympathize with or actively supported the January 6th attack on the Capitol in the first wave of the insurrection. It will occur in the context of the anti-vax, anti-mask mass psychosis which is fueling the "child-killer" phase of the Delta wave Pandemic, which will explode further when schools reopen. Many of these terrorists have military training and are skilled at asymmetric warfare, counterinsurgency, special weapons and tactics, and stealth communications. Incl...

Enough About Me-- What Do YOU Think About Me?

August 31, 2021 This article in today's "Guardian" (linked at the bottom) confirms my forecast of August 16, in my Blog Article entitled "The Most Dangerous Implications of The Afghanistan Collapse Which The Media Will Not Cover".  The Guardian's take is spot on and worth the read. Tucker Carlson, Fox and Friends are doing exactly what I said they would do, which is to use the Afghanistan crisis in a particular form of Nazi style propaganda to fuel the next wave of Insurrection. (the relevant point is that there is a difference between strategic analysis, which I work on, and reporting on news events after they happen)  Here is an excerpt from that August 16th piece. (Link here) https://therosenreport.blogspot.com/2021/08/most-dangerous-implications-of-afghan.html ["The fascist leadership of the GOP and its Trumpian Coup plotters are going to use this failure in the same way they have used the "Big Lie" about the election. The Trump app...

Why Racism Is My "Dealbreaker". Written One Year Ago Today

Image
I wrote this piece one year ago because I was in a personal crisis. I had long time friends and family members who were arguing in favor of the racist policies of Trump and MAGA, and I felt that both they and I had some decisions to make about our relationship.  I have a red line, which when crossed means that tolerance and "respect for opinion" are off the table. The statement below is not a "political view". It is who I am. I can accept that people have diverse backgrounds and beliefs. Everyone is different, but most of us are the same in terms of hopes and dreams for the future, for ourselves and our children, and their children. I cherish the differences in my friends, who each in their own way brings joy to my life. Nobody has to agree with what I believe in to be my friend, and vice versa.  But, racism is a deal breaker. If someone has religious, political or personal views that are racist or bigoted, then that person has to change to be my friend.  If a pers...

Why Trump Republicans Need the "Boogeyman" of Socialism to Bring About Fascism-- From One Year Ago

Image
A friend of mine asked me this, so I copied the question and my answer, posting here. "Can you explain why Trump supporters are using examples of Socialism to tarnish the Democrats? Every ism has its flaws, it is the people in charge that are the problem" Me: ..."the followers of Trump, as well as his Wall Street backers, and Billionaire enablers, are, for the most part, Social Darwinists. They believe that any policy, be it on economics, health care, public health, education, National Security, food production, water management, sanitation or transportation, which impedes the progress of "Nature" in weeding out the unfit, is a bad policy, and intrinsically Socialistic.  Through fabricated arguments based on fake history, they associate any policy which is directed toward the "General Welfare" (see Preamble US Constitution) with authoritarian failed systems which they call "command economies", like the Soviet Bloc.  They argue that the exe...

How Biden Is Blowing It With Europe-- CNN Story Is Based In Reality

The quote bracketed below is right out of my Blog article three days ago, "Random Thoughts on the Afghanistan Fiasco"  While most "non-Trump" media were trying to spin the US failure of policy and strategic vision as something other than unmitigated disaster, spreading the blame, and circling the wagons around Biden personally, I homed in on those things which were strategic and fundamental, as for example the implications of these moves for our future relations with Europe., For close to four decades of my involvement in international politics, I received briefings from our collaborators in European countries, including daily reports on the "take" of their varied press outlets on developments in the US and elsewhere. I was trained in a certain way to see events through the eyes of Europeans as well as our own on the ground assessments of the US, giving me a slightly different perspective than mainstream US media.  Therefore as the situation broke in Afgh...

Just What In The Heck Is The Common Good Anyway?

Just What In The Heck Is "The Common Good" Anyway??  August 24, 2021 I suppose it's a bit on the egotistical side to quote oneself in trying to make a point, whether on the political situation or anything topical for that matter. But, I have to start somewhere, so here it is, from a Blog post of mine from March.  ["As a general principle, the politics and methods of governance by leadership is mostly going to be the projection of their personalities and intentions through the strategic policies which they advocate, as defined by their relationship to the People as a whole. Without the "General Welfare" concept, which some might call the Common Good, ALL of politics is corrupt."] Many of us have stood for this idea of the "Common Good", yet the definition of the concept still remains nebulous and therefore subject to interpretation.  The obvious first question to ask is, "what is the good"? Plato, through Socrates in his dialogue  ...

Time To Take A Deep Breath

Image
Time To Take A Deep Breath- August 22, 2021 I just read an article in the Right-Wing publication "National Review" formerly associated with the slithering, snakelike, effete intellectual snob and protofascist Libertarian, William F. Buckley, (whose literary corpse is still stinking up the place) which dredged up a laundry list of quotes and interviews with President Biden to make the case that he has dementia. It's called, "Something Is Wrong With President Biden". I'll post a link to it momentarily. This is consistent with a two year long campaign of vilification and rage-baiting by Carlson, Ingraham and Hannity on Fox TV, and the recent calls by Nazi Insurrectionist Rep. Rick Scott (R-Fla) beating the drum to invoke the 25th Amendment.  President Biden is not lying, or senile as the Right Wing MAGA press is echoing. He is, in my view, trying to deflect from the painful fact that he was misled, misbriefed, and ill advised by people closest to him that he ha...
