  I just read a News story sent by my Wife on the exciting effort by the Israelis, working in five teams, jointly trying to find a Covid-19 treatment. This reminded me of a story. Apparently, the Israeli entries into the Olympics Rowing Team event had never won a Medal in all their years of competing. So, in desperation to at least make a showing, the Prime Minister personally fired the Coach, and brought in his top notch surveillance team from the Mossad for emergency consultations. The meeting convened and quickly the subject was put on the table, this was a matter of National honor at stake. They had to have a winning team.   Since I'm still stuck here in Lockdown after a week of Snow, I am going a little nuts. That gives rise to an uncontrollable urge for me to drive other people nuts. It's a Jewish thing, this is how we get even. So I'm starting yet another Facebook thing, "Cracked Headlines, Not The Onion" . I'm reviewing the News for stories which you might think are fake because the Headlines are so deranged, you wonder if the editorial staffs are passing around Hash Brownies in Mushroom Sauce in their daily meetings. But the headlines and stories are actually quite real. The subtext is mostly mine.   Today's Edition, Random Thoughts-- Feb 20, 2021 (long winded edition) 1. To no one's surprise, the Appeal of Alexai Navalny's Jail sentence was rejected yesterday. Clearly, Putin is rubbing it into the face of Joe Biden and the Europeans that he does not care a whit about their objections, and intends to use the full powers of the Russian State to crush his domestic opposition. Putin believes Navalny is a Western Intelligence operative deployed to destabilize Russia. The White House today announced that Russia is not invited to the G-7. Does this mean anything to Putin? How about more sanctions? Nope. Putin has been massively expanding economic relations with China over the last 10 years. He thinks the Europeans, (Germany, Italy, Netherlands) Japan, South Korea, and Turkey who are leading trade partners of Russia need him more than he needs them, and is prepared to absorb sanctions and walk away from the G-7 if need be.
