  Today, many Americans bemoan the lack of political and moral leadership. We have become cynical, such that when aspiring leaders do step up, we treat it like celebrity gossip and fixate on their sex lives, their money, and other scandals. We do that because we are addicted to it,  conditioned to think that way by our Tabloid culture. What did it mean to take leadership responsibility for a movement to defend human rights back in the early days of the Civil Rights Movement, or today for that matter? Martin Luther King was 28 years old when he was chosen to head the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, the main body coordinating the activism of those fighting Jim Crow. There were other organizations such as NAACP, a few years later SNCC, and the various Democratic and Organized Labor groups.   Sometimes people ask how I know what I know, and ask for sources or links so they can "fact check" me. That's fine, because I never post news stories that I can't back up with verified and multiple sources.  But, sometimes when doing analysis or making a forecast I will just assert certain things that I know based on my personal experiences, and rely on my track record and history to validate what I say. The picture above is a perfect example of why.  I have known personally since the Spring of 2016 that the Trump Campaign was not only colluding with the Russian government against the Clinton campaign, but that Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn has been a Russian Intelligence asset since at least 2015.  How do we know whether what we are reading is true, or for that matter useful? There are many journalists in the US today who are not only excellent writers, but are just good people. They are well informed, have the best intentions and are highly professional.  I have to force myself to write, and it comes with great difficulty because I am blocked, and had little journalistic training. Without an editor I feel lost, and feel as though I want to rewrite everything or throw it out after I read it. Reading books and articles is my favorite hobby, and when I'm doing that I am in my happy place.  As of now I have 30 News and Magazine sites bookmarked and I read them everyday as a routine.  A mutual friend of mine and Martha recently asked what our thoughts were about how to resolve the issues of the Palestinian people. We discussed it, and she asked me to write up what we discussed.   Under the auspices of Franklin Roosevelt's Works Progress Administration, (WPA) a "Federal Writers Project" was established to promote the stage, literary pursuits, and historical research, among other things.  One of its most important accomplishments was a project to interview the many then still living former Slaves at that time who chronicled their experiences as they survived enslavement, rose up, or were otherwise kept down by the legacy of Slavery.   Chauncey DeVega of "Salon" posted on his FB page a sincere question. He wants to understand how Kyle Rittenhouse inspires such empathy among the White Right, from parents who identify this killer as "like their own kids". The most important thing about the DOJ indictment of Russian Intelligence asset Steve Bannon yesterday is the message it sends here and abroad. (Yes, I said Russian.
