The Trumpworld Love Affair With Hungary's Fascist Dictator Viktor Orbán Is Not "Politics". It's Intelligence Warfare-- October 26, 2021

 



The following is my comment on Dr. Heather Cox Richardson's strategic political overview from today, October 26, 2021.  Our Professor is and has always been very thorough and insightful in educating us.

However, speaking as someone who is on some kind of Spectrum, and having a lot of personal political history, what I see and hear most prominently and most often in the analysis of others is that which is missing from the picture, not simply what is stated.

Call it a fixation, obsession, a neurotic habit, or compulsive on my part, I always start my commentary on others reporting right there. My concern of course is to make sure that we are not blindsided by events which we should have seen coming, which occurred due to lack of political experience, myopia, ideological blindness or plain old fear.

One way to make that idea Intelligible is the sad case of some women who never will do a Breast self-exam in the shower, because they are afraid of finding a lump and what that lump means for their future. In effect, it's an example of "we see what we want to see". In this kind of world, selective vision can be fatal.

So, for what it is worth, I am solidly of the view that the increased affinity of the American "Hard Right" for Orbán's Religious/Authoritarian model is the visible aspect of a long standing Russian Intelligence Warfare project, launched in 2012 when Putin reassumed the Russian Presidency. ["One thing which is missing from this picture is that real world considerations indicate that Viktor Orbán is a Putin "Cats Paw", a Russian asset in Europe. The increased affinity by the American hard Right Wing with Orbán's Hungary is consistent with their promotion of Putin as an Authoritarian/Religious based reactionary nationalist model, and the massive interface between Russia's Putin enabled Oligarchs with a variety of American conservative organizations, including CPAC, the NRA, news outlets such as OAN, Fox propagandist Tucker Carlson, and the GOP itself.

His attempts to get a personal interview with Vladimir Putin did not succeed this past Summer, but his backchannel maneuvering with Russian officials was enough to put Carlson in the middle of an NSA surveillance op, supposedly by accident. 

So, if you look at what is out there, such as this article linked below and others, Orbán and Hungary's increased collaboration with Putin's Russia puts the love affair between the US hard "White Right" and his authoritarian model into context. It is part of a pattern of Putin's use of the American Evangelical/Conservative apparatus since his return to the Russian Presidency in 2012. The Trump apparatus has been in partnership with Russian Intelligence since its inception. So now they are tilting toward another Russian asset as a model, taking advantage of the fact that Hungary is considered more acceptable due to their affiliation with NATO and the West. It's not just "politics". It is Intelligence warfare."]

Milton Friedman- The Man Who Revived Fascist Economics, and Called It "Freedom".

  You may have heard the name before, as he was featured in a PBS Series, titled "Free To Choose", also the title of his most famous and misnamed book. He was a prolific author, and widely publicized by Conservative News Media and Magazines, especially by the followers of William F. Buckley. In fact, Milton Friedman is the current top economic advisor to the so-called "movement conservatives", from Nixon to Reagan, to Newt Gingrich and Trumpworld,  and is still to this day the main architect of the GOP approach to dealing with the present economic crisis, though he has been keeping a low profile. How Do You Know If What You Are Reading Is True Or Useful? - A One Year Old Facebook Post

 How do we know whether what we are reading is true, or for that matter useful? There are many journalists in the US today who are not only excellent writers, but are just good people. They are well informed, have the best intentions and are highly professional.  I have to force myself to write, and it comes with great difficulty because I am blocked, and had little journalistic training. Without an editor I feel lost, and feel as though I want to rewrite everything or throw it out after I read it. Reading books and articles is my favorite hobby, and when I'm doing that I am in my happy place.  As of now I have 30 News and Magazine sites bookmarked and I read them everyday as a routine. I usually read anywhere from 2-10 articles in each, depending upon what newsworthy events are breaking that day. Plus I have a number of books on history that I have going at any one time.
