For Your Files: NY Daily News' S.E. Cupp Writes Overview Of Trump And Family's Years Long Embrace Of Nazis-- What Do We Think That Means For Us?

Cupp is a noted conservative anti-Trump writer and pundit, who has written for CNN (before they went rotten to the core) and others. Everything in her article has been written about previously, but it is still of value because she pulls together the whole picture through one concise summary, "Team Trump's Axis With Hitler's American Friends."

So, keep this handy, just in case you have a run-in with some stupid religious-nationalist idiot who wants to argue that Trump is the greatest President ever for Israel, and therefore the best choice for American Jews and Christian Evangelicals.

And BTW, my advice on discussing the CNN atrocity of last night, don't get bogged down in the minutiae of the various insane remarks or repeats of his litany of obsessive lies. That's just old garbage over the barge. Go with THIS.

I've written dozens of articles on my blog detailing exactly every single biographical instance of Trump's personal bond with Adolf Hitler and his followers today. Now we have the Trump family appearing on stage with them, actual fucking Nazis, renting their Hotel to them, and defending it openly. And in the course of writing these pieces, my focus, oddly enough, has not been so much Trump himself. It has been the moral cowardice of the anti-Trump media and the ostensibly liberal consumers of the news who refuse, literally refuse to use the word "Nazi" to characterize Trump and his movement. That group includes many of my readers, and you know who you are.

Over the last eight years, this failure and capitulation by many of my anti-Trump friends has been one of my greatest sources of frustration. The reason we have gone for so long without an effective anti-fascist coalition (not the mythical "Antifa," a group of college students wearing bandanas riding skateboards) has been the failure to admit that we are in fact fighting Nazis!

As we know, our choice of words is important. You've all read the other words the media has used in the past. Conservative. Far right. Populist. Right-Winger, Autocrat. Authoritarian. Alt-Right. Conspirophile, and other such thoughtless euphemistic pablum which is acceptable to erstwhile corporate advertisers and bootlicking editors, liability lawyers and your fucking social media "community standards" algorithms. They'll use any word that can be dredged up from your modernistic deconstructed Thesaurus of politically correct 21st Century empty platitudes BUT the actual word that tells his real story.

Nazi. He is a Nazi. You know it is true, but you still don't want to say it and therefore continue to pull your punches. But now you have seen this and watched Rachel Maddow, and you can't keep lying to yourselves about it anymore.

I, for one, did what I swore I would never do, which was to unretire from politics on the day that Trump praised the Nazis who marched in Charlottesville in August of 2017 when they murdered Heather Heyer. I was burned out, cynical, dealing with health and we had personal/financial issues like most other people. But I made my decision that day, ironically on the very same day and for the same reasons that Joe Biden made his tough decision to run for President, at his age, in his circumstances of family tragedy. That is one reason I love Joe Biden without really knowing him, and will defend him and his Presidency against all adversaries, even when I disagree with him.

So now, given this story and the set of irrefutable facts surrounding it, I find it worthwhile wondering how many others will make similar decisions, without regard to social status, family relationships, club memberships, friendships, business relationships, and so forth. Who will find the courage to tell the MAGA followers in their lives that they have joined a movement of Nazis, and are therefore becoming one themselves? Who is ready to run for Congress or other elected office and make this the center of their campaigns, to say outright, "I'm running because Trump and his movement are Nazi, and I intend to lead my fellow citizens in standing against them?"

Who, and when? Not because I'm asking, but because our World War II generation ancestors and future generations are.
