The White House Must Demand The Expulsion Of Marjorie Taylor Greene From Congress. Today.

Recent developments should represent a turning point in the orientation of the President, Democratic leadership and the still independent news media of the US. 

Yesterday Marjorie Taylor Greene praised the actions of Air National Guardsman Texeira for his months long spying and leaking of highly damaging top secret material, which after being modified in many cases has been used by the Russian government to undermine NATO's policy toward Ukraine, and justify Vladimir Putin's impending escalation of his genocidal war. Arresting the perpetrators alone is insufficient.

This case involves actual spying, without any ambiguity. The suspect acted covertly and allegedly conducted espionage against the United States. 

The investigation of said spying will lead in many directions, but one thing is certain. We have a "category five" security risk on the Homeland Security Committee in Congress, and nothing will be done to remove her because she is the most powerful member of Congress at this time. She is Trump's anointed surrogate and spokesperson, who was given sole possesion of the "early hook" (a baseball term) with which to remove House Speaker McCarthy and literally paralyze the legislative branch. 

Because she and her backers are terrorists and blackmailers, only the White House and DOJ can force her removal. And they have to, because MTG's endorsement of such spying is a statement of intent on her part to engage in the same activity herself. And because Trump stands behind her, no one can touch her with old style party or House disciplinary measures. 

She needs to be expelled from Congress. If she is indicted she can be forced out. There is currently a grand jury investigating January 6th. The President must unshackle (not weaponize) the DOJ and his Attorney General to free them from any political pressures or calculus which would lead to a "hands off" policy toward MAGA's leaders regarding January 6th, or any repeats of the spying  activity of Texeira. 

People will fixate on her statement that Texeira was arrested because he is an "anti-war white Christian male," but that is just rage-baiting for making the Trump campaign's propaganda points. Some will bring up her apparent ignorance, obvious stupidity, and white supremacist associations. But the issue is that she is inciting Trump supporters with security clearances, both government employees and private contractors, to conduct espionage against the US on behalf of Russia. 

This is the woman who has twice served as Speaker Pro-Tem in McCarthy's absence. And the initiative to do this comes from Trump directly, who is reacting to his indictment with the predictable intent to "burn everything down" and conduct his own personal war of  'retribution."  This, my friends, is the most recent and dangerous version of "Insurrection, 2.0."  Literally it is a call for rebellion against the US by Trump supporters in the military and intelligence agencies. And politically speaking, it is the continuation of fascist coupmeister Steve Bannon's political strategy known as "flooding the zone with shit." 

It would be a huge mistake by President Biden to stay out of the fray and "let Congress handle it." Congress in its current state of chaos, marked by an ongoing destruction of all norms and precedents, will "handle" absolutely nothing. Only Presidential actions made in defense of our national security can address this effectively. 

Again, many people are asking fearfully "are we going to have a Civil War?" Increasingly I am of the view that the war was started some time ago, but that only one side has been fighting in it. 

The White House appeals to bipartisanship and unity have been a self-deluding farce. Some will point to the handfuls of bills, much watered down and some utterly toothless, that have been passed in Biden's first two years to argue for the usefulness of attempting bipartisanship.  Even that is now over since Trump's and Putin's House Freedom Caucus hijacked the House and took its Speaker as their hostage. 

If there is a red line for the President, this should be it. MAGA is now a wholly Russian entity. He must step in now to insure the dismantling of the leadership of Putin's "Fifth Column." The political damage done by them will soon surpass the status of propaganda and incitement to reach the stage of massive American casualties and deaths. That's what these insane and criminal actions amount to. 

The President should sit down and write a nationally televised speech to call upon all Americans to disavow the treasonous actions of Marjorie Taylor Greene and her allies in and out of Congress. He should call for the expulsion of her and any others who advocate espionage. He should give his people in the government permission to do their jobs without fear of retribution. 

And he should lock his office door, keep his speechwriters and political campaign advisers out, and write the fucking speech himself. ("F" for emphasis)
