Our Posterity Has Some Questions--Will President Biden be Today's Lincoln, or James Buchanan?

Our Posterity Has Some Questions--

(my reaction to Professor's HCR's extraordinary "tour de force" today on the history of the movement for "States Rights" and its evolution into the Confederacy. Must reading)

["So, we have a process underway in which the Trump/GOP Red States had their "Fort Sumter" on January 6th with their violent attack on the seat of our elected national government in order to overthrow it, marching under the flag of the Confederacy. This Confederate Army, led by today's Jefferson Davis, was brought there as an anti-government violent attack force, not a peaceful assembly.

Sixteen months later, not one of the ringleaders of that modern day Confederate rebellion has been charged, only the footsoldiers. Not one person has been charged with murder for the violent deaths of Capitol police, or the incitement which caused them. Not one person has been charged with conspiracy to commit political murder in the case of the former Vice-President.

Meanwhile the emboldened ringleaders continue to expand their plot for seditious conspiracy by organizing the gradual secession of the Red States in effect, acting to nullify Americans long-protected rights in the name of "States Rights."  They pick and choose their "culture war" issues which bear upon the "General Welfare" clause of our Constitution's Preamble, and should rightly fall under the domain and responsibility of the Federal government.

This second phase of the rebellion is being enabled by a Supreme Court which is in the tradition of the repulsive, anti-American, and legalistic Jacobin, Roger Taney of the infamous Dred Scott decision. One of those Judges is married to one of the apparent ringleaders of the violent mob and political conspiracy which attacked our Capitol, tried to overthrow the elected President, cancel the People's votes, and caused the deaths and injury of hundreds. That Judge is not under Impeachment. The wife of that judge is not facing charges.

And today, the voting rights of the People are still being obstructed by the State level officials who supported the January 6th "Fort Sumter." The Supreme Court is continuing a judicial attack on our Federal Government with multiple Taney types of rulings, continuing that which was begun on January 6th, which will result in more death and injury. Their movement is recruiting armed MAGA volunteers in many states to play the role of the old KKK to go to the polls and make sure "the wrong kinds of people" don't vote. It is truly a New Confederacy, and they are in a state of rebellion against the United States.

I know what Abraham Lincoln did to preserve the Union after the first Fort Sumter, at the moment of secession. He didn't vacillate, or negotiate, seek compromise, or agree to State Sovereignty. He did not recognize the Confederate government or their President. He used the Army to remove their governments and officials and restore the US Constitution.

What is our President going to do today to preserve the Union, which is most assuredly breaking up, albeit in slow motion? Will today's usurper President and his co-conspirators of the New Confederacy be indicted? Will the rogue Neo-Confederates of the Supreme Court be neutralized by the expansion of the Court? Will voting rights in the States be enforced by the force of Federal intervention, as was desegregation after Brown vs Board of Education? Will the racist fillibuster designed and used to protect the post-Civil War Jim Crow system be overturned? Will the Congressmen and Senators complicit in this violent rebellion be expelled and then arrested?

Will President Joe Biden be the Abraham Lincoln for our times, or will he be the President James Buchanan who presides over the dissolution of our Union, due to inaction, pragmatism,  and a desire to "keep the peace" after a war has started? Are we there yet? Does it not look like war and rebellion, or is it still "just politics"?  Asking on behalf of our posterity."]
