A Retrospective On My Own Resistance To Getting Involved Three Years Ago--
A Retrospective On My Own Resistance To Getting Involved Three Years Ago--
I posted this in the Summer of 2019. At the time I was at war with myself as to whether or not to "unretire" from politics, having been burned badly by my former organization, and burned out after decades of front line and risky organizing activity.
We were in a conflict with both Bush administrations, were targets of the FBI and intelligence community, and at that stage of my life I was not so interested in jumping back in. The post above is an example of the turmoil I was going through at the time, because the reality of "Trumpism" was pulling me toward reactivation, and I was fighting it. Like many people, I wished for a quiet and stress-free life in my later years.
Three months later I started my small Blog "The Rosen Report" in the aftermath of Trump's impeachable actions re: Ukraine and his efforts to destroy the Bidens and rig the elections. It was also after a Trump speech where he "predicted" civil war if he lost.
At first, I used it primarily to archive my political posts on Facebook, and since then it has evolved into something else. A political diary of today's ongoing conflict. And it was game on.
Since then, I've posted 458 articles and background reports, which have 21,115 views, and is read in 18 different countries, from Ukraine, to Russia, to Ireland.
Compared to major media figures and pundits that is relatively tiny. I have a "niche" readership, of people who love history, like edginess, and enjoy a sometimes humorous and unconventional take on day to day events.
I'm grateful to everyone who has stayed with it, made suggestions and input, even helped with editing my tortured prose. Most of all I'm thankful to my wife Martha who is my number one editor and inspiration, who encourages me to write, makes interventions to point me toward issues that are of substance, and is my co-author in much of what I write.
The January 6th hearings are a potential turning point in our battle, but it is contingent on the answers to two questions. What is the Biden administration going to do differently afterwards? And likewise, what will we do?
This is no time to be "practical" or rely on old formulas. Consider this a battlefield in which the adversary abides by no rules. Are we capable of adapting to that reality? If anything is to come of the revelations we will be hearing about over the next six days, we are challenged to not "hope and pray" for the DOJ to solve our MAGA problem for us. Only "People Power" can accomplish that.
Keep our eyes on the prize. I know how tired many of you are. So am I. This is where everything gets real in a hurry.
