We all want to change what has happened. Sometimes to do it, you need to open up a new flank, instead of sticking with a strategy which has  failed us. We are not doomed. We are stuck in the mud. Possibly, the lying, fascist, Confederate, pseudo-Catholic Crusaders and Inquisitors of the Supreme Court have gone too far, and awakened a sleeping giant. 

I'll say one thing though, speaking as a male who is privileged to not have to make the awful decisions forced upon so many women affected personally by this ruling. The necessary mass organizing against this atrocious GOP cult must be broad based, and address universal justice. A movement of women, only reaching out to women, focused narrowly on the rights of women to determine their own health decisions is a guaranteed strategy for failure. 

A campaign around one issue, organized with slogans will satisfy emotional needs, and spark a lot of energy, but will fade over time and not be sustainable. 

Look at the incredible ferment which exploded in the aftermath of the George Floyd murder. And what came of it? A single-issue loser of a campaign to "defund the police", which accomplished little except to give the fascist GOP talking points to use in doubling their fundraising. That is simply the objective reality. And ask yourselves, how can you win on a single issue when you've lost your right to vote? 

If the response to this ruling is to do outreach and mobilize solely around the one issue of abortion, it will die the death of inertia. And while the attention is on that one issue, they will be ripping apart our Democracy and the most essential functions of our government, installing through vote fraud QAnon candidates, radical Libertarians, and insurrectionists, bent on dismantling ALL of our Constitutional protections. They will use the legal system to destroy the rule of law. A single-issue orientation will turn into something like gun control, focused entirely on a fight over the interpretation of one Amendment, while the rest of the Constitution is being torn to shreds. 

So, just a heads up, from someone who wants more than anything to defeat this enemy, and has been fighting them since the age of 14. Think big, act historically, and speak of universal ideas. Don't let them play you. Instead of orienting toward election cycles (but not ignoring them) consider posterity as our guide.

Fight like a Ukrainian, for all of humanity.

Milton Friedman- The Man Who Revived Fascist Economics, and Called It "Freedom".

  You may have heard the name before, as he was featured in a PBS Series, titled "Free To Choose", also the title of his most famous and misnamed book. He was a prolific author, and widely publicized by Conservative News Media and Magazines, especially by the followers of William F. Buckley. In fact, Milton Friedman is the current top economic advisor to the so-called "movement conservatives", from Nixon to Reagan, to Newt Gingrich and Trumpworld,  and is still to this day the main architect of the GOP approach to dealing with the present economic crisis, though he has been keeping a low profile. How Do You Know If What You Are Reading Is True Or Useful? - A One Year Old Facebook Post

 How do we know whether what we are reading is true, or for that matter useful? There are many journalists in the US today who are not only excellent writers, but are just good people. They are well informed, have the best intentions and are highly professional.  I have to force myself to write, and it comes with great difficulty because I am blocked, and had little journalistic training. Without an editor I feel lost, and feel as though I want to rewrite everything or throw it out after I read it. Reading books and articles is my favorite hobby, and when I'm doing that I am in my happy place.  As of now I have 30 News and Magazine sites bookmarked and I read them everyday as a routine. I usually read anywhere from 2-10 articles in each, depending upon what newsworthy events are breaking that day. Plus I have a number of books on history that I have going at any one time.
