About My "Credentials"--


I actually have none yet, in the traditionally accepted sense. I have no degree or teaching position, have very few published articles or Press mentions, have never had an official government position (Though I have consulted for and advised elected officials) and as of now have not yet published a book. (There is one in process) in fact, I've only in the past three years taken a serious approach to writing. 

So if you Google me you will find that I have a political Blog. That is it. There are several notable commentators and writers who I will not name who have taken an interest in my analysis and reporting, so hopefully I will "gain traction" soon as a writer and reporter if a couple of opportunities pan out. 

My wife Martha and I are decades long veterans of political organizing and international policy interventions which are in fact my credentials. I made myself an authority on Russian history, culture and affairs, and have background in sorting out security and Intelligence matters. I was a briefing officer and leading fundraiser for an International Think Tank (now defunct) which we broke with in disgust many years ago, an association which I now regret despite my many invaluable and memorable experiences. 

During my political organizing days I was privileged to work with notable figures who were veterans of the Civil Rights movement, some of whom were part of MLK's inner circle and helped lead the Selma campaign, among others. 

Additionally I had the opportunity to personally meet and/or work with a diverse group of significant world leaders, including a former US Attorney General, a former UN Ambassador from a Latin American nation, leaders of the Eastern European freedom movement who came into government after the collapse of Communism, (including a former VP of one nation) I've worked with and met members of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Head of the Economics department of a University based in Moscow, (also a member of RAS) and the former President of an African nation. During my 35 year long career in politics I met and talked with dozens of elected officials, gave interviews to local radio, taught dozens of informal class series, and ran two successful Democratic Congressional Primary campaigns. 

And I was a damned good fundraiser, raising almost 10 million dollars for various causes, campaigns and initiatives in largely smaller and medium sized contributions, with zero corporate bundling, all grass roots. We made a lot of hay with our campaign to Impeach Dick Cheney in the "00's". 

I am a JFK/FDR Democrat, and my support for President Biden is grounded in my decades of Democratic activism. 

I despise "Trumpism" in all of its manifestations, and have given of my time and my health for the last five years to defeat it, coming out of political retirement to do so. 

So, for the skeptical and the discerning among you who are wary of disinformation and lies, I don't yet have that "Blue Check" for a verified account next to my name which some believe is the be all and end all for who and what is "credible". 

If having that Blue Check and some kind of title is vitally important to you, then maybe I'm not what you are looking for. If you want to read someone who is thought provoking and grounded in reality, then I'm your guy. 

I hope that is good enough for now. Worry not, I'm gaining influence as a writer and the recognition will come. In the meantime I am writing for you, not for me, because I have an obligation to inform my friends to the best of my abilities. If I make a mistake, I will own it, learn from it, take corrective measures, and not repeat it again. That is my promise to each of you.

Milton Friedman- The Man Who Revived Fascist Economics, and Called It "Freedom".

  You may have heard the name before, as he was featured in a PBS Series, titled "Free To Choose", also the title of his most famous and misnamed book. He was a prolific author, and widely publicized by Conservative News Media and Magazines, especially by the followers of William F. Buckley. In fact, Milton Friedman is the current top economic advisor to the so-called "movement conservatives", from Nixon to Reagan, to Newt Gingrich and Trumpworld,  and is still to this day the main architect of the GOP approach to dealing with the present economic crisis, though he has been keeping a low profile. A very low profile. In fact, six feet under. How Do You Know If What You Are Reading Is True Or Useful? - A One Year Old Facebook Post

 How do we know whether what we are reading is true, or for that matter useful? There are many journalists in the US today who are not only excellent writers, but are just good people. They are well informed, have the best intentions and are highly professional.  I have to force myself to write, and it comes with great difficulty because I am blocked, and had little journalistic training. Without an editor I feel lost, and feel as though I want to rewrite everything or throw it out after I read it. Reading books and articles is my favorite hobby, and when I'm doing that I am in my happy place.  As of now I have 30 News and Magazine sites bookmarked and I read them everyday as a routine. I usually read anywhere from 2-10 articles in each, depending upon what newsworthy events are breaking that day. Plus I have a number of books on history that I have going at any one time.
