Guardian Article Highlights White House "Stiff-Arming" Of Voting Rights Leaders

 

This article in the Guardian sounds an alarm which should be heard loud and clear. The advocates of sweeping voting rights reform are being stiff armed by the President and Vice President, because of the refusal of Biden to challenge the fillibuster in time to enact legislation before the Holiday recess.

This could very well mean that we have already had our last free and fair election and we face the end of Democracy.

The very fact that VP Harris was delegated months ago to be on top of this, and then in a teleconference with voting rights leaders nationally read a 6 minute prepared statement then left abruptly with no questions tells the whole story. Is Harris channeling Kayleigh McEnaney, or is she in effect being put under a virtual gag order by the White House? I suspect the former, that she is being squelched by Biden's Centrist advisers.

Once again, we have to face the unpleasant reality that two Democratic defectors in the Senate are the agents for enabling the rise of fascism in the US. These two traitors to the nation claim to be defending "Bipartisanship". To them, that means them personally accepting large deposits of GOP wealthy donor's money and political influence. They are taking what they would call middle of the road positions in their so-called "purple states" for their own personal benefit. Well, in the old days of Pre-Conquest Mexico there was an expression the Aztecs had, which was "going astride the road" that meant resorting to prostitution to survive. That is a fair characterization of what the Senators from Arizona and West Virginia are doing.

And unfortunately those of us who see the writing on the wall are being fed so-called "good economic news" in the form of data/statistics that look great on paper in an attempt to mollify us, but don't reflect reality. The economy is being held up by Federal Reserve liquidity pumping which they will try to maintain throughout 2022 for the elections. The employment figures frankly are fudged by the Bureau of Labor Statistics to hide real unemployment. Minimum wage has not moved in more than a decade. And the advocates of the cult of "shareholder value" continue their looting and obscene profit taking off of the Fed created new categories of bubbles in the markets, and imaginary money in cyberspace.

If the strategy of the White House is to mimic Orwell's 1984 strategy of keeping the population happy with phoney good economic news, the GOP will sweep in 2022 and bring their "Führer" back to power, through legal or other means.

This article in the Guardian highlights what I've been warning about since the campaign in mid 2020. The Centrist advisers to President Biden such as Anita Dunn are corporate shills, who oppose in principle the idea of an FDR style economic recovery, and believe that accommodating with the GOP in the name of bipartisanship will win them elections by appealing to the "soft center" of Trump's base. 

The problem with this type of thinking is that the "moderate" faction of the GOP no longer exists. Trump  is in total control of it, and is anointing thugs and Stormtroopers to its leadership while purging those who dissent. Marjorie Taylor Greene is now Trump's official spokeswoman in Congress. She talks to him multiple times weekly where she is fed her marching orders. She, and her "Auschwitz (ie; Freedom) Caucus" are the leadership of the Insurrection against the US.

And President Biden wants bipartisanship with that? It is time to stop spectating and cheerleading. We need to get into the administration's faces to get them off center, so to speak. Our window is rapidly closing.

Milton Friedman- The Man Who Revived Fascist Economics, and Called It "Freedom".

  You may have heard the name before, as he was featured in a PBS Series, titled "Free To Choose", also the title of his most famous and misnamed book. He was a prolific author, and widely publicized by Conservative News Media and Magazines, especially by the followers of William F. Buckley. In fact, Milton Friedman is the current top economic advisor to the so-called "movement conservatives", from Nixon to Reagan, to Newt Gingrich and Trumpworld,  and is still to this day the main architect of the GOP approach to dealing with the present economic crisis, though he has been keeping a low profile. A very low profile. In fact, six feet under. How Do You Know If What You Are Reading Is True Or Useful? - A One Year Old Facebook Post

 How do we know whether what we are reading is true, or for that matter useful? There are many journalists in the US today who are not only excellent writers, but are just good people. They are well informed, have the best intentions and are highly professional.  I have to force myself to write, and it comes with great difficulty because I am blocked, and had little journalistic training. Without an editor I feel lost, and feel as though I want to rewrite everything or throw it out after I read it. Reading books and articles is my favorite hobby, and when I'm doing that I am in my happy place.  As of now I have 30 News and Magazine sites bookmarked and I read them everyday as a routine. I usually read anywhere from 2-10 articles in each, depending upon what newsworthy events are breaking that day. Plus I have a number of books on history that I have going at any one time.
