Generals Publish Stark Warning Of Civil War Threat In 2024. I Know Of Them--

 


The Washington Post has published an Op-Ed by three retired Generals which point to the scenario for an outbreak of Civil War in the United States in 2024. Since WAPO is a pay site, here is the link to sister publication Newsweek's coverage.

This is not the kind of news people enjoy hearing as we head into the holidays. Myself, I don't much care about holidays, except for a general sentiment of wanting people to be happy and enjoy spending time with their friends and family. Otherwise I have no compunction about writing on issues that people don't want to think about, so here it is. 

This is a very credible threat assessment coming from three leading retired US Generals, warning that the Trump apparatus is capable of launching actual Civil War in 2024, should there be a contested election. 

They specifically warn of a scenario in which the military itself would have divided allegiances between the incumbent and the Trumpian challenger, and that they would take sides against the other, with the Trump followers refusing to follow orders from the Commander-in-Chief. The recommendation made in their Washington Post Op-Ed is that the Biden Administration should begin War Games playing out the scenario to prepare well in advance for how to prevent it. What it amounts to without saying so directly is a call to purge the Army, something unprecedented in our history. And I believe it is specifically written to gain the immediate attention of President Biden and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin. (Pictured together above) 

The Generals who authored this piece are somewhat known to me from our previous political heyday, when we were a force of opposition to the Cheney/Rumsfeld/ Bush 43 policy in Iraq following 9-11. 

Retired Major General Paul Eaton was then in touch with our organization on two separate initiatives. One was the April 2006 full page open letter in the Washington Post authored by a dozen high ranking flag officers who demanded the firing of Donald Rumsfeld as Defense Secretary for his conduct detrimental to the Nation and our ostensible mission in Iraq, a mission which was itself based on lies. 

General Eaton's responsibility was to train the Iraqi Army once the process of removing Sadaam's regime had commenced. Everything that happened there he saw from the inside, and felt compelled to speak out about. 

The second initiative was his efforts in defense of "outed" CIA NOC Agent (Non Official Cover, meaning covert) Valerie Plame and her husband, former diplomat Joe Wilson. Dick Cheney and his Chief of Staff Lewis Libby (convicted, jailed and later pardoned by Trump) on the advice of Karl Rove declared Plame "fair game" after Wilson exposed the filthy lies of Cheney regarding supposed purchase of Yellow Cake Uranium from the African Country of Niger by Sadaam's regime, supposedly more "proof" that Iraq had a WMD program. Which of course most knew they did not. Her exposure caused incalculable damage to the network of undercover agents and assets she had developed and was running for years, in addition to targeting her for possible assassination. We were actively involved in her defense at the time, and our organization (before it was hijacked by insane people) worked with Joe Wilson. 

General Eaton and his collaborators know the mind of Donald Trump because of Trump's personal interactions with Pentagon leaders as President. They see him as predictable. Their concern, based on this open letter, expresses in my view the danger represented by an entrenched Fifth Column in the Pentagon and the flag ranks which were then loyal to the lying Cheney/ Rumsfeld regime, such as the racist Muslim hating Flynn Brothers Michael and James,  Lt. Gen. Anthony Tata, and many others who would help lead a Trump insurrection in 2024. Also there is a new generation of military leaders who rose through the ranks in the cauldron of combat in our 20 year long war in Afghanistan, people who are capable soldiers but badly warped by their experiences, who are itching for a domestic conflict to root out "traitors" in our government.

More to the point, this letter is a wake up call to a very deluded White House which still to this day is in denial about the imminent threat of Civil War, which believes it can negate that threat by delivering government services and an economic safety net, while trying not to antagonize or provoke the leaders of said insurrection. 

These Generals have been delegated in my opinion to speak out and give voice to the active military leaders who are prohibited from speaking to this threat, or making public unauthorized statements. At some point, there will be a few "Col. Billy Mitchells" who throw themselves on the sword and risk their careers to head this off, but for now, this should be seen as an early warning. 

This is not fearmongering or scare tactics. Anyone not scared about this is not thinking.

Milton Friedman- The Man Who Revived Fascist Economics, and Called It "Freedom".

  You may have heard the name before, as he was featured in a PBS Series, titled "Free To Choose", also the title of his most famous and misnamed book. He was a prolific author, and widely publicized by Conservative News Media and Magazines, especially by the followers of William F. Buckley. In fact, Milton Friedman is the current top economic advisor to the so-called "movement conservatives", from Nixon to Reagan, to Newt Gingrich and Trumpworld,  and is still to this day the main architect of the GOP approach to dealing with the present economic crisis, though he has been keeping a low profile.  How do we know whether what we are reading is true, or for that matter useful? There are many journalists in the US today who are not only excellent writers, but are just good people. They are well informed, have the best intentions and are highly professional.  I have to force myself to write, and it comes with great difficulty because I am blocked, and had little journalistic training. Without an editor I feel lost, and feel as though I want to rewrite everything or throw it out after I read it. Reading books and articles is my favorite hobby, and when I'm doing that I am in my happy place.  As of now I have 30 News and Magazine sites bookmarked and I read them everyday as a routine. I usually read anywhere from 2-10 articles in each, depending upon what newsworthy events are breaking that day. Plus I have a number of books on history that I have going at any one time.
