Texas "Cancelling" The Holocaust? More Than Just The Usual Texas Republican Brand of Stupid--

 


The following is my commentary in response to Heather Cox Richardson's coverage and news reports regarding a Texas School Board's recent attempt to impose State laws demanding "opposing views" on Holocaust Studies, other fascist types of censorship and literal whitewashing of American history. This is short and not so sweet.

["Speaking as an American who is Jewish, and a lifetime student of history, I have followed this story for the last several days, and would emphasize several points. 

First, is that the Texas GOP is not merely echoing Trumpism or jumping upon a new Fox News generated trend. The Texas GOP is using culture war related issues which run old and deep to push Secession from the Federal government. 

Secondly, this is driven not so much by politics, but by a sick mass based religious cult headquartered at the Dallas Texas Baptist Theological Seminary, which has for a Century and a half been the command center for "Darbyite" and other pseudo-Christian Evangelical heresies, which masquerade as loving Israel and the Jews, but is profoundly anti-semitic. They come from the tradition of radical Millenialists and Armageddonists who profess their belief in "End Times" prophecies, which assert the need for using Israel to trigger the war of Armageddon, "separate the wheat from the chaff" so to speak, by condemning all of the unconverted Jews to burn in eternal fire, paving the way for the Second Coming. There is a wealth of information out there on this rogue Evangelical cult, and their Antebellum history professing Biblical arguments in defense of Slavery and opposition to race mixing. It is still the most powerful force in the Southern Baptist Convention to this day, and dominates the Texas Megachurches.

Thirdly, it is documented that the well organized and funded "Texas Secession Movement" which includes many among the GOP leadership there and is supported by Gubernatorial candidate Allen West among others, has multiple political and financial ties to Russia. The Texas Independence Movement which is highly influential in the GOP actually has offices in Moscow, and flies both the flags of Texas and Russia over their building. I would sum up, that this toxic mashup of Trumpism, Dark Ages Evangelical Fundamentalism, and an ongoing Russian Intelligence operation being run through the GOP since 2012 on a national basis to divide the US and unleash chaos, is what we are seeing unfold. The strategic goal is the political, economic and cultural breakup of the United States. 

It is infuriating when we hear these garbage lies about history, "bothsidesism" or omission of our history on the Holocaust, Slavery, indigenous genocide and sexist oppression. But it is crucial to see this strategically for what it is, and not fixate on just one aspect of it. Texas is leaving the Union, and intends to lead other States out. That is what is going on, and why the escalating atrocious actions by its state government."]

Milton Friedman- The Man Who Revived Fascist Economics, and Called It "Freedom".

  You may have heard the name before, as he was featured in a PBS Series, titled "Free To Choose", also the title of his most famous and misnamed book. He was a prolific author, and widely publicized by Conservative News Media and Magazines, especially by the followers of William F. Buckley. In fact, Milton Friedman is the current top economic advisor to the so-called "movement conservatives", from Nixon to Reagan, to Newt Gingrich and Trumpworld,  and is still to this day the main architect of the GOP approach to dealing with the present economic crisis, though he has been keeping a low profile. How Do You Know If What You Are Reading Is True Or Useful? - A One Year Old Facebook Post

 How do we know whether what we are reading is true, or for that matter useful? There are many journalists in the US today who are not only excellent writers, but are just good people. They are well informed, have the best intentions and are highly professional.  I have to force myself to write, and it comes with great difficulty because I am blocked, and had little journalistic training. Without an editor I feel lost, and feel as though I want to rewrite everything or throw it out after I read it. Reading books and articles is my favorite hobby, and when I'm doing that I am in my happy place.  As of now I have 30 News and Magazine sites bookmarked and I read them everyday as a routine. I usually read anywhere from 2-10 articles in each, depending upon what newsworthy events are breaking that day. Plus I have a number of books on history that I have going at any one time.
