To Solve Today's Crisis, Start At The Beginning- Written One Year Ago

We all want to solve our National crisis, if we are human. To do so means thinking differently than we are used to. We try to live "in the moment". History is not 10 years ago, it didn't begin the day we were born, and it doesn't end the day we die. Einstein might say that the past, present and future exist simultaneously, so it would follow that there is no "in the moment", rather, that we are in "every" moment in which everyone else exists. It means that what we do is influenced by others, past, present and future, and it affects all others similarly. We do not exist or act in isolation.

In normal times, economic planning by government is defined by election cycles, and we organize our personal finances and careers around our vacation plans, holidays, birthdays etc., and when our income comes in. We work to make enough money to save, to have leisure time and disposable income to be entertained. We hope to raise and educate children, and give them the opportunity of a successful and happy life. We hope that our life's work contributes in some way to the common good, and to a better future.  But, there are times like these in which we fear our best efforts to build a "normal life" are not enough.

Why is it that our heroes today are often fictional people in animated films about fantasy universes? Maybe, because so many of the real heroes have been assassinated, jailed, slandered and persecuted. It's safer to root for comic book heroes, since you don't get in trouble that way. Or else, we make heroes of people who are just doing their jobs, albeit sometimes at great personal risk. How many people can you think of who actually risked everything, gave everything for the sake of an idea, even if they knew they would never live to see the good which that idea would realize? Thats what a revolutionary is. If we work through this thought, that's how we can access history, and see the actual potential in people. It's how we measure leadership, and ourselves, by how we respond to adversity with universal ideas, in real time.

Consider this. If you are thinking that we started to go in the wrong direction in November 2016, that's only partially right. 9-11 was a turning point which impacted everything, but not decisive in affecting our culture or relationship to the future. What was decisive was the assassination of JFK. He represented cultural optimism, not just a political or economic program. When he was killed, many people gave up. They were the people who raised us.

Why did they give up? Because they knew that their government had lied to cover up the murder of their President. That is when all of this started.

An actual solution concept for the current situation is not what we do in November. It is going back in time to November 22, 1963, and looking at how and why things went wrong, starting that very day. Address those wrong decisions, and that is how we can reverse course and have that future we all want.
