Time To Take A Deep Breath-

I just read an article in the Right-Wing publication "National Review" formerly associated with the slithering, snakelike, effete intellectual snob and protofascist Libertarian, William F. Buckley, (whose literary corpse is still stinking up the place) which dredged up a laundry list of quotes and interviews with President Biden to make the case that he has dementia. It's called, "Something Is Wrong With President Biden". I'll post a link to it momentarily. This is consistent with a two year long campaign of vilification and rage-baiting by Carlson, Ingraham and Hannity on Fox TV, and the recent calls by Nazi Insurrectionist Rep. Rick Scott (R-Fla) beating the drum to invoke the 25th Amendment. 

President Biden is not lying, or senile as the Right Wing MAGA press is echoing. He is, in my view, trying to deflect from the painful fact that he was misled, misbriefed, and ill advised by people closest to him that he has trusted, known and worked with for decades. 

He is doing damage control so as not to lose the entirety of his policy agenda because of this strategic failure in Afghanistan. He is trying to prevent an internal White House free for all which tears his policy team apart. He is taking the heat himself to ensure that none among his people are scapegoated for the unfolding disaster. And finally he is trying to prevent an irreparable rupture in the Democratic Party between the Progressives and the Centrists which imperils the whole of his legislative agenda.

President Biden I believe knows what awaits the American people if his administration fails and the Trump fascists come back to power. He is not demented or dishonest, but is trying to hold everything together. And he is acting like a man who doesn't want it to be known that he was played, or worse, betrayed, trying to focus us on the road ahead while his team tries to dig out of the mess they created. 

It is counterproductive at this point to pile on, but at the same time it is necessary for us to be critical and force them to self-evaluate, or they will continue to make the same kind of mistakes again and again. The White House must hear from the people who put them there that we insist on a higher standard, and a much more aggressive fight against the January 6th Rebellion and its ringleaders. We must be loud and clear that Biden must reign in the Centrists in his Party and go to war with the GOP to carry out his campaign promises, not "triangulate" with them. 

It is acceptable to criticize if we ourselves are doing something about the problem in need of solving. None of us gets off the hook because we voted or paid taxes. Wearing a mask and getting vaxxed is good, but not sufficient. We need activism. And that requires clarity, meaning we need to remind ourselves what we are fighting for, and not be satisfied or smug as we stay up in the grandstands, booing the home team. We need to get on the playing field.

Milton Friedman- The Man Who Revived Fascist Economics, and Called It "Freedom".

  You may have heard the name before, as he was featured in a PBS Series, titled "Free To Choose", also the title of his most famous and misnamed book. He was a prolific author, and widely publicized by Conservative News Media and Magazines, especially by the followers of William F. Buckley. In fact, Milton Friedman is the current top economic advisor to the so-called "movement conservatives", from Nixon to Reagan, to Newt Gingrich and Trumpworld,  and is still to this day the main architect of the GOP approach to dealing with the present economic crisis, though he has been keeping a low profile. A very low profile. In fact, six feet under. How Do You Know If What You Are Reading Is True Or Useful? - A One Year Old Facebook Post

 How do we know whether what we are reading is true, or for that matter useful? There are many journalists in the US today who are not only excellent writers, but are just good people. They are well informed, have the best intentions and are highly professional.  I have to force myself to write, and it comes with great difficulty because I am blocked, and had little journalistic training. Without an editor I feel lost, and feel as though I want to rewrite everything or throw it out after I read it. Reading books and articles is my favorite hobby, and when I'm doing that I am in my happy place.  As of now I have 30 News and Magazine sites bookmarked and I read them everyday as a routine. I usually read anywhere from 2-10 articles in each, depending upon what newsworthy events are breaking that day. Plus I have a number of books on history that I have going at any one time.
