1. To no one's surprise, the Appeal of Alexai Navalny's Jail sentence was rejected yesterday. Clearly, Putin is rubbing it into the face of Joe Biden and the Europeans that he does not care a whit about their objections, and intends to use the full powers of the Russian State to crush his domestic opposition. Putin believes Navalny is a Western Intelligence operative deployed to destabilize Russia. The White House today announced that Russia is not invited to the G-7. Does this mean anything to Putin? How about more sanctions? Nope. Putin has been massively expanding economic relations with China over the last 10 years. He thinks the Europeans, (Germany, Italy, Netherlands) Japan, South Korea, and Turkey who are leading trade partners of Russia need him more than he needs them, and is prepared to absorb sanctions and walk away from the G-7 if need be. Strong arming Putin will not work. Not after what the US did to Russia's economy in the 90's, bringing hardline Russian Nationalism to power.
2. In case you missed it, Josef Ratzinger, the Right Wing Graduate of the Germany's Hitler Youth, otherwise known as Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI has been running a "Trump Style" Coup in the Vatican against Pope Francis, trying to force his removal to reverse Francis attempts at bringing the Church into the modern World. Why is this relevant? Because Benedict is stoking the Right Wing US Bishops against President Biden, in some cases even those associated with QAnon. Benedict is intriguing for installing as replacement Cardinal Robert Sarah of Guinea Africa, the Right Winger of choice for the pro-fascist faction of the Church. BTW, this faction around Benedict is just as freaked out about Francis "cleanout" of the big time embezzlers and money launderers in the Vatican Bank as any reforms Francis has made in Catholic teachings or policies. So, today's news that Francis kicked Cardinal Sarah out of the Vatican is a huge "shot across the bow" of Benedict. Also relevant for people who follow this is the Daily Express story that Benedict is telling people he didn't want to resign, that Francis forced him out. The plot thickens. Where is Dan Brown when you need him?
3. Kim Kardashian is not just divorcing Kanye. She's also divorcing Donald Trump. Her soon to be Ex, as everyone knows, suffers Bi-Polar disorder, but aside from that has a monumental Narcissistic personality disorder. Several years ago Kim brought him to the White House to add weight to her efforts to obtain Clemency for notable cases of legal injustice in California she was involved with. Profiling Kanye to a T, Trump and Kushner played him like a Violin with flattery and access, because Trump needed a "Black Celebrity Face" to fend off attacks on his blatant racism. Kanye was hooked up with Trump's psycho Pro-Life Evangelicals, and was encouraged to rediscover his "Christian Roots" and start preaching. That was the context for his unhinged public attacks on his wife over their arguments about having more children. It was Kushner who encouraged and recruited the mentally ill West to run for President as a Pro Trump Independent, playing his ego and impaired judgment, in order to split off Black voters who might vote instead for him, not Biden. It was all a political gambit by Trump to use a sick person for his own ends. Kim's inability to help him manage his illness is what laid the groundwork for the Divorce, as she could not reconcile his extreme behavior or positions with the marriage. There are always private issues we don't know about, but when someone uses dynamite to start a rockslide, you don't blame "erosion". You find who set the explosive.
4. Joe Manchin, Democratic Senator from West Virginia is a GOP Trojan Horse, and our biggest domestic political threat. He has the power to sabotage everything, from Cabinet nominations to the need for a $15 an hour minimum wage, to the whole stimulus package. Biden needs to meet with him stat, take away his monkey wrench, and read the riot act.
5. Rush Limbaugh certainly earned his Lung Cancer. For years he defended smoking cigars and cigarettes, claiming "it takes 50 years to kill you, IF IT DOES". Limbaugh occupied the "Pole Position" of the Science Denial movement, setting the pace for the covidiots and radical anti-vaxxers today. We can all breathe easier now that he is kaput.
6. Donald Trump's mentally handicapped Son, Don Jr. became one of the first defenders of Ted Cruz's vacay to Cancun. He's angling for the position of RNC Chairman. I hope he gets it. We could use someone like him at the top of the GOP.

Milton Friedman- The Man Who Revived Fascist Economics, and Called It "Freedom".

  You may have heard the name before, as he was featured in a PBS Series, titled "Free To Choose", also the title of his most famous and misnamed book. He was a prolific author, and widely publicized by Conservative News Media and Magazines, especially by the followers of William F. Buckley. In fact, Milton Friedman is the current top economic advisor to the so-called "movement conservatives", from Nixon to Reagan, to Newt Gingrich and Trumpworld,  and is still to this day the main architect of the GOP approach to dealing with the present economic crisis, though he has been keeping a low profile. A very low profile. In fact, six feet under. He is currently dead, and has been for 14 years, yet his horrific philosophy continues to stalk about, haunting us like the living dead animated by a Voodoo curse, burning live Chickens, chanting incantations, and propitiating the irrational forces of Britain's Adam Smith and his "Invisible Hand". How Do You Know If What You Are Reading Is True Or Useful? - A One Year Old Facebook Post

 How do we know whether what we are reading is true, or for that matter useful? There are many journalists in the US today who are not only excellent writers, but are just good people. They are well informed, have the best intentions and are highly professional.  I have to force myself to write, and it comes with great difficulty because I am blocked, and had little journalistic training. Without an editor I feel lost, and feel as though I want to rewrite everything or throw it out after I read it. Reading books and articles is my favorite hobby, and when I'm doing that I am in my happy place.  As of now I have 30 News and Magazine sites bookmarked and I read them everyday as a routine. I usually read anywhere from 2-10 articles in each, depending upon what newsworthy events are breaking that day. Plus I have a number of books on history that I have going at any one time. This is no big accomplishment or unique, it's just how I occupy my time and is my form of work these ...
