 Today's Random Thoughts, Feb. 27- Pulling no punches Edition--

1. President Biden has decided not to directly exact sanctions or punishment against Prince Mohammed Bin Salman for the Khashoggi murder, while releasing the declassified report proving that he ordered it. Supposedly this "measured approach" is designed to not disrupt US/Saudi relations, rather to "reset" them. The problem as I see it is this: Prince Bandar, former Saudi Ambassador to the US, and head of Saudi Intelligence, personally funded the 9-11 hijackers as they were living here and training, through his Wife's personal bank account. This is documented in the partially redacted 9-11 Commission Report. A faction of the Saudi government and Royal Family, of which Bandar is a member, ran 9-11. Now, add up the casualties from 9-11, the KIA and wounded in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere, military and civilian, infrastructure damage, and the total financial cost of 20 years of post 9-11 warfare, and what do you have? Is it even calculable? The Cheney/Bush Administration, the Obama/Biden Administration, and Trump/Putin Administration have each covered up for the Saudi role in 9-11, and all of the ensuing destruction since. We have been dragged into funding and supplying their brutal war in Yemen, and Americans are held hostage to their near monopoly over Middle East Oil. Tell me again, what is so precious about our relations with Saudi Arabia that we are prepared to allow the murder and dismemberment of a leading journalist and dissident? That question is for you Joe.

2. Basketball star Jeremy Lin has gone public about the National trend of vicious racially motivated attacks on Asian-Americans, including himself, as he reported being heckled by fans who called him "coronavirus". There are daily incidents of beating and stabbings of Asians which are clearly coming out of the rabid political base of Donald Trump. Its moments like this when I am truly ashamed to be American. I don't care who doesn't like hearing that. I can't and won't accept this racist garbage from anyone. Ever. 

3. Rand Paul's obscene denunciation of Rachel Levine and Trans people in her confirmation hearings didn't occur in a vacuum. It has everything to do with a desperate attempt to be noticed and recognized by Donald Trump on the eve of the CPAC conference, and to literally profit from the recognition and press coverage. He is waving a Red Cape to his stupid Kentucky voting constituency of unreconstructed Confederate Moonshiners, and trying to boost his National status. There's a pattern of this, as you see with Majorie "Tantra" Greene, Tom Cotton, (perfect name for a GOP advocate of returning to Slavery) Gov. DeSantis, and Matt "Butthead" Gaetz, who are all auditioning for whatever they have planned for 2024, trying to attach to Trump's coat tails. Fine. They can ride his coat tails to jail. 

4. No one should buy into or accept the British Tabloids escalating attacks on Prince Harry. It was those same Tabloids and their photographers who killed his Mother. 

5. Former Senator Kelly Loeffler is now out of the WNBA, and politics, after selling her piece of the Atlanta Dream franchise. Now she can go back to her night time job of Midnight Rides and Cross burning. 

6. What actually is wrong with "cancel culture"? If you can live with almost half of the American population moving toward and supporting Fascism, you should "cancel" yourself, and go from there.

7.  Former Fox News personality Megyn Kelly also is auditioning for her next "position", (Maybe MTG's Tantric Sex Guru can help advise her on positions) possibly as a co-host on "TNN" (Trumpworld News Network). She made a big public show today of announcing she was pulling her children out of school si they wouldn't be exposed to "anti-racist" topics in their curriculum. If she is committed to Truth in Advertising, she should make sure that in her next TV gig she wears a hood and robe.

8. Great CPAC conference, eh? An SS Runic symbol stage design, a "Golden Graven Image" of Trump, it's all so "Christian," isn't it? WWJD? Frogs and Locusts for them.

Milton Friedman- The Man Who Revived Fascist Economics, and Called It "Freedom".

  You may have heard the name before, as he was featured in a PBS Series, titled "Free To Choose", also the title of his most famous and misnamed book. He was a prolific author, and widely publicized by Conservative News Media and Magazines, especially by the followers of William F. Buckley. In fact, Milton Friedman is the current top economic advisor to the so-called "movement conservatives", from Nixon to Reagan, to Newt Gingrich and Trumpworld,  and is still to this day the main architect of the GOP approach to dealing with the present economic crisis, though he has been keeping a low profile. A very low profile. In fact, six feet under. How Do You Know If What You Are Reading Is True Or Useful? - A One Year Old Facebook Post

 How do we know whether what we are reading is true, or for that matter useful? There are many journalists in the US today who are not only excellent writers, but are just good people. They are well informed, have the best intentions and are highly professional.  I have to force myself to write, and it comes with great difficulty because I am blocked, and had little journalistic training. Without an editor I feel lost, and feel as though I want to rewrite everything or throw it out after I read it. Reading books and articles is my favorite hobby, and when I'm doing that I am in my happy place.  As of now I have 30 News and Magazine sites bookmarked and I read them everyday as a routine. I usually read anywhere from 2-10 articles in each, depending upon what newsworthy events are breaking that day. Plus I have a number of books on history that I have going at any one time.
