Why in Heaven's Name Would Capitol Police Re-deploy National Guardsmen Into a Garage?

 

The answer to the above question may be as simple as the answer to "Why would the Capitol Police only deploy 400 Officers out of 1300 to protect the Capitol from an Insurrection that everyone saw coming"?  Or the question as to "why Capitol Police assisted the Insurrectionist mob in breaching the Capitol's Security to gain entry to begin with"? 

Maybe there are people in the Capitol Police Command who saw this as an opportunity to turn a significant number of National Guardsmen against the Federal government, and create more potential recruits. Or, possibly just a payback. 

"Recruits to what," one might ask. 

I and others have been writing about this issue for three years or more. There has been a systemic and coordinated infiltration of White Supremacists of the Neo Nazi and hard core anti-government Confederate secessionist variety into US Law Enforcement. This growing insurgency was always lurking there, but has since been weaponized by Donald Trump, and now spreads like a metastasized Stage four Cancer.

In a majority of cases, these are Men who were recruited during their Military service, who because of their training and skills, upon discharge applied and were accepted into training academies for local Police Departments, State Police, and Sheriff's Departments. In other cases, they were civilians who were tasked to infiltrate by Militia and Neo Nazi groups to gain access to training, weapons, and to act as insider informants, using their access to the National crime data base and local Precinct activity to give early warning to their groups of impending investigations, or to identify Confidential Informants.

This infiltration goes in many cases to the Command level. The online and real world activity of White Supremacists in Law Enforcement has, up until recently, been considered protected First Amendment activity and is defended by Police unions, whose lawyers go to Court to defend Nazi Cops who are fired, claiming they are not "active particpiants",  only getting information or engaging in protected Free Speech. 

Most of us have heard about the "Oath Keepers" in the aftermath of Trump's attempted violent Coup.  They are not in all cases full blown Nazis, but they are a Paramilitary and espouse Civil War. There is a high percentage of Law Enforcement and Military, both active and retired among their membership. It is a "Brotherhood" of racist Cops united by their Christian fundamentalism, hatred of Islam, minorities, civil liberties, the Federal Government, and Progressives. They see BLM as a treasonous terrorist organization. BLM political activity has forced Police and Sheriff's Departments to institute body cams and other reforms that expose racist Cops beatings and killings of minorities, planting evidence, etc. The advent of cell phone cameras and "live streaming" has brought the brutality of racism in Law Enforcement right to everyone's personal devices. These racist Cops are bound together in "Brotherhood" by a shared victimization, the belief that they are holding the line against a conspiracy of criminals and "animals" as well as their "Liberal" celebrity enablers, and are now being thrown under the bus for it, despite risking their lives everyday. 

This is precisely the mind set of the returning German War I  Veterans who believed they were "stabbed in the back" by their government's surrender, who then joined fascist paramilitaries to fight the Communists in the streets, and later rallied around Hitler as the protector of "Law and Order".

Police Fraternal Organizations and Unions are donating heavily to right wing Republicans,  and 80% of their members voted for Donald Trump. Wealthy Christian groups and billionaire connected organizations fund "Blue Lives Matter" and FOPs etc because they are interfaced with the Privatized Prison Industry and profit from the long term policy of Mass Incarceration. (which the Biden administration is thankfully inclined to want to eliminate) Right Wing Think Tanks and Private Security firms are assuming roles writing  training manuals, redefining Police procedure, devising legal strategies for Police charged with using unnecessary force, and intensively lobbying for the privatization of local Law Enforcement functions to make it profitable, to interface it with the Private Prison industry. The private security firms involved in running privatized law enforcement would include the types owned by Trump crony and patron of War Criminals Erik Prince, brother of Betsy Devos.

In summary, the problem with US Law Enforcement has long ago surpassed it's own historic patterns of "systemic racism", and in this recent era of Trumpism has reached the threshold of a mass infiltration of White Supremacist domestic terrorism sympathizers and participants. This insurgency has been driven by the recruitment of broken and demoralized Military veterans and burned out Policemen, as well as young men recruited to the culture of violence through the violent conspiracy cults spreading on the Internet. 

In my view, they are analogous to the spread of the SA and the Nazis out of the demoralized German Army after WWI. Among the biggest lies you will hear from those who are covering up for this is that "it is only a few bad Apples". It is not. It is systemic, and is far more dangerous than our traditional racism.  It is large enough in scale as a small hardcore group to represent a significant National Security threat. 

It is a Brotherhood of Insurrection against our government, which they blame for their own victimization by "Leftists."  And Americans are willing to accept this because of the cultural effects of 20 years of War with an enemy defined as Islamic, in a world in which the fastest growing economy is that of China, and America's movement of African American leaders and other minorities defending Civil Rights is branded as a treasonous Fifth Column, because they criticize "America's Heroes". 

And now it has reached a point where racist Paramilitaries made up of Military personnel and Law Enforcement are organizing themselves to kidnap and kill political leaders, and are prepared to kill or otherwise harm other Police and National Guardsmen to do it. It is truly a "Fifth Column", which needs to be investigated and rooted out. (I believe that the Biden administration is committed to doing this. And I am happy that our government's leaders moved so quickly to address the situation with the Guardsmen. FLOTUS Jill Biden getting down there in person to meet and greet and give out Chocolate Chip Cookies was a perfect example of the new paradigm in what we all hope is the "Post Trump Era")

In other words, there is no reason to think that anything you see unfolding along these lines is random, because this is no mystery.  What you see as examples of character degeneration and lawlessness among those institutions charged with upholding the Law is precisely what happened in Germany, under political circumstances which parallel ours today.

There are conspiracies. The one I'm highlighting has been throughly documented by former FBI agents undercover, the ADL, and the Southern Poverty Law Center, among others. It's all out there.

Can I say with certainty that the actions of the Capitol Police in antagonizing and abusing our Guardsmen were nothing more than incompetence or bureaucratic inertia? No, not anymore than I can say that about why Capitol Police massively underdeployed to protect the Capitol, then assisted the entry of the terrorists. However, given the way the Guardsmen were treated, there may be some that will now be somewhat lacking in enthusiasm for risking themselves to defend people who they believe treated them like garbage. 

Given what we already know, when we see something as spectacularly outrageous and incommensurate as what happened these last few weeks, I'm not satisfied with writing these types of things off as an anomaly and moving on. As was the case after Pearl Harbor, and 9-11, the days of ignoring warning signs are over.
