  Austrians Greeting Arriving Wehrmacht after Anschluss In Regard to Trump Supporters and GOP Members--- I used to have some empathy and patience for the majority of Trump supporters. I thought many of them were decent people, angry at what they saw as unfair treatment, misled by corrupt political and religious leaders, brainwashed by Right-Wing Media, mostly not hard core racists but suffering from ignorance, privilege, and insularity. So, for many of these folks I cut them some slack and hoped that with changes in the Pandemic and the economy, they could be calmed down and reintegrated. I knew the extremists would still be out there in force, creating huge problems and conflict, but thought a Biden recovery might "take the wind out of their sails" somewhat.  Not any more.   This is a noteworthy intervention by the National Catholic Reporter, demanding that the Vatican investigate a renegade faction of the US Catholic Bishop's Conference for it's open espousing of the "deranged and corrupt" policies of Donald Trump, and sympathies with the White Supremacist Insurrection of January 6.  I've written a few things about the apparent interface between some of the most extreme Right Wing Bishops and the QAnon cult.   Most of us are now aware of a new Book coming out which purports to document a 40 year operation by the KGB, the Soviet Intelligence services, and later the FSB, the Russian Spy Agency, to cultivate Donald Trump as an "asset", through a sustained campaign. It is called "American Kompromat, How the KGB Cultivated Donald Trump, Related Tales of Sex, Greed, Power, and Treachery", by Author Craig Unger. I haven't yet read it, so I can't review it today. However I am posting this brief "Guardian" interview below with Unger's principal source, former KGB Officer Yuri Shvets. As important as is what Shvets divulges for the book, is who he is, and what he is connected to. Shvets is not a "run of the mill" defector who is dishing on Trump as part of a grift. He is the former Partner of Alexander Litvinenko, a former KGB Spy who was murdered with Tea poisoned with Polonium on orders of Vladimir Putin while living in exile in England. Linked...
