Strategic Alert. Trump's intention to purge US Military Command is operational. Trump, Barr, going for 1807 Act now?
I'll keep this short. Trump's long held views of the US Military and its leadership are well known. There was nothing surprising content-wise in the Atlantic article. There are some salient points however to be made regarding this conjuncture of events.
1. The US Military Command is aware of two things, and are acting in an unprecedented way in response. First, is that Trump is an Agent of Russian strategic influence occupying the US Presidency, and is therefore our greatest National Security vulnerability himself. Second, is that Trump intends to invoke the 1807 Insurrection Act, to either disrupt the Election through domestic Military deployments to "Anarchist" (read Democratic) Cities., or, for the purpose of crushing domestic opposition to his attempts to void the Election.
2. Trump is preparing to fire Defense Secretary Esper, with the likely replacement being O'Brien, the National Security Advisor. Also, there is a possibility that JCS Chairman General Milley will be fired. The issue underlying these moves is solely related to the two points above, regardless of what spin is put on it by the media, such as the Confederate Flag or Military Base name change issue.
3. The unprecedented stories and attacks on Trump which are in the Atlantic article, confirmed by other News services, and those still forthcoming, are coming from the "active Military leadership" of the Pentagon, but are being made available to selected Press by delegated "retired Military leaders" or those otherwise connected to active Military, who both face less danger from attempts at retaliation such as firing or insubordination charges,, or, will hold up better under active threats. The selected Media require a track record of consistent coverage exposing Trump's crimes, and the resolve needed to not cave into threats or intimidation. Trump cannot close down a Free Press, as he tried to do by axing the budget to Stars and Stripes.
Therefore, expect some "heads to roll" in the next week or two, and the escalating counter attacks from the Pentagon, in the form of new and more spectacular revelations. The "Great War of 2020" is on.
