Fallout from the Atlantic Article-- Sept. 4, 2020

Today is a watershed day, as Trump has walked directly into a trap that was months in the making. This story was carefully researched, planned out, and likely timed for the immediate aftermath of the RNC. The research, interviews, vetting of the sources, and verification of the facts were a major project. All sorts of people knew this story was coming. Its not surprising that the Lincoln Project had started their narrative the day before on how the Military had been disrespected by Trump. Likewise, the poll results showing that Military members support for Trump had precipitously dropped, were released about 4 days before the Atlantic story was released. The point is, that the release of this story was timed, and expected by the Biden campaign, which had ads on it ready to run within a few hours, as well as the anti-Trump press, and likely was fully expected by the Trump apparatus.
The beauty of this is that Trump, in his diminished cognitive state, ran through the Stop Signs, and still acted based on his predictable profile, blundering like a wounded beast into the trap that was set for him, lying profusely about things which he was already on the record about, such as his denial that he called McCain a loser. He is so out of it, in such a raving ego state, so enraged, that he couldn't even hold his shit together to follow his instructions on damage control, despite the fact that his handlers had probably briefed him on this story weeks ago.
He has gotten away with 20,000 lies. This one has and will continue to blow up in his face. He has flown too close to the Sun, and his wings of wax are melting.
Nobody attacks our War Dead. Not even his nearly brain dead and robotic cult followers will go along with this. And, because of his track record of public statements, everything in the article is credible in the eyes of most, and anyone who has served, had family who served, or friends, is feeling as though they have to vomit.
And, because our War Dead, Injured and Veterans are venerated as heroes, he can't get away with lying as he usually does, because this time, he lied about something intensely personal that people are paying attention to.
Even Fox has verified the story. And he is fucked. Today is indeed a watershed day.

Milton Friedman- The Man Who Revived Fascist Economics, and Called It "Freedom".

  You may have heard the name before, as he was featured in a PBS Series, titled "Free To Choose", also the title of his most famous and misnamed book. He was a prolific author, and widely publicized by Conservative News Media and Magazines, especially by the followers of William F. Buckley. In fact, Milton Friedman is the current top economic advisor to the so-called "movement conservatives", from Nixon to Reagan, to Newt Gingrich and Trumpworld,  and is still to this day the main architect of the GOP approach to dealing with the present economic crisis, though he has been keeping a low profile. How Do You Know If What You Are Reading Is True Or Useful? - A One Year Old Facebook Post

 How do we know whether what we are reading is true, or for that matter useful? There are many journalists in the US today who are not only excellent writers, but are just good people. They are well informed, have the best intentions and are highly professional.  I have to force myself to write, and it comes with great difficulty because I am blocked, and had little journalistic training. Without an editor I feel lost, and feel as though I want to rewrite everything or throw it out after I read it. Reading books and articles is my favorite hobby, and when I'm doing that I am in my happy place.  As of now I have 30 News and Magazine sites bookmarked and I read them everyday as a routine. I usually read anywhere from 2-10 articles in each, depending upon what newsworthy events are breaking that day. Plus I have a number of books on history that I have going at any one time.
