What I saw coming 1 year ago
If it's anything less than a Landslide, Trump will renounce the result, and announce he is not leaving.
He may do that even still, but it will be harder.
His Campaign Lawyers will set into motion a National legal strategy to void results in Democratic cities in those states he loses, claiming fraud. But that is not the actual plan, that's the cover.
When Trump announces he's not leaving, mass demonstrations will begin, including surrounding the White House. That's why they are adding to building reinforcements around the White House now.
These anti-Trump demos will go violent, because there will be provocateurs, some of whom sent in by Nazis and Bikers, militias etc, but some from the left side as well. What these provocateurs will have in common is that many of their groups and members are steered from Russia, which wants chaos here. (I'm putting that picture together)
Trump at this point calls for a MAGA uprising from his heavily armed hard core base, to confront the demonstrators and come to the White House to protect him from "the Unconstitutional Coup against him by the Leftist terrorists who want a Godless Communist Dictatorship" blah blah.
So, we will likely have blood in the streets, reminiscent of Germany after WWI, with Left vs Right paramilitaries and rioters at war in a chaos scenario bigger than June after the George Floyd murder. (that is, assuming something else doesn't set it off, like food shortages, or exoneration of the Louisville Cops in the Breonna Taylor killing)
This is where the 1807 Insurrection Act comes in again. Trump will have his emergency, and he and Barr will invoke it to put down the demonstrations, and rule by decree. If the Military leadership is purged between now and the Election, it is likely that the military will ally with Trump's fascist militias to crush the demonstrations and set up martial law.
If the Military stands by the Constitution, and refuses to carry out Trump's orders like on June 2, the Military will be forced to confront Trump's irregular Army of fanatics, which is much bigger than you think. They will resist, and there will be blood. Either way, it is going to be uncharted territory, a serious Civil Conflict and Constitutional crisis.
I'm saying this not to depress anyone, though it is horrifying to consider these things. I'm saying that we need to be mature and thoughtful, and willing to face reality, instead of indulging in wishful thinking about a nice Biden victory, smooth transition, and return to normal. Unless it is an overwhelming Landslide, that prospect went out the window when the Impeachment failed. It's what I've been trying to tell you.
