The Revolution of 2020--

I've lived through Revolutions. We worked with people who made them. Two of them we and our friends in Europe were involved in, in a small but significant way. We know what Revolutions look like.
We are in one now. It was always going to be messy. It's still not fully formed. The course of action is still being defined, and is narrowly focused, but evolving. It will keep growing, and encompass a larger area of injustices in need of being rectified. It is at this moment, uncontrolled, which is the best thing I can say about its potential. And it is beautiful.
It is amazingly Global. France, the Netherlands, Germany, England, countries in Africa, Mexico, everywhere, people are Marching in solidarity with BLM, in memory of George Floyd.
But, in my view, the most important thing to take from this, is that the emotional and moral energy driving this Global Revolution has exploded from a pressure cooker that was already building. Millions of people are marching against He who embodies Institutional racism, economic exploitation, indifference to poverty and suffering, hostility to our civil discourse and traditional role of government, and not least, a threat to destroy our historic friendships. These millions of people on the streets around the World love what America represented to them. An imperfect Nation, but whose founding and role as World leaders against tyranny was a Beacon of Hope, and Temple of Liberty for Humankind. The people of these many Nations want "Their America" back. They want us to be free of this Cancerous organized hatred which came to power in 2016. The World is telling us that we have their blessings, moral support, and strongest Hope, that we can use this energy to rid ourselves of the pestilence of the Trump Presidency. The world is marching FOR this. The world sees Trump as the intellectual author of racist Police killings in America, because he has weaponized Religious and racial bigotry to further his drive for power. It grieves them that we have fallen so far. Nations which have been nearly destroyed by War and Dictatorship in their history recognized before we did the nature of the Trump evil, and have in various ways have tried to warn us.
As a Veteran of many events in big history, I can tell you that the most important decisions have yet to be made. As to where this goes, we aren't sure. If someone is kidnapped and escapes captivity, and steals a Car to make a getaway, that person won't know where he is, and likely not where he's going. He has only the exhilaration that for the moment he is free.
This exhilaration will be short lived until you determine your direction. That's the thing. Lack of direction, lack of leadership, is why most Revolutions have tragically failed. The actions and decisions of a small handful of people, in the right place, at the right time, will determine which way this goes. If you want to be one of those, it is time for you go to school. Literally.
