Have you ever heard of "Ghost Skins"? According to the FBI, these are Right Wing Extremists, Klansmen, Neo-Nazis, Confederate Seperatists and heavily armed Militia groups that have infiltrated the Military and Law Enforcement, but are keeping a low profile so as not to be exposed as such. The FBI is frustrated with their knowledge of how rapidly this has spread, and their being obstructed from investigating it, such that they can't keep track or count the number involved.

The Extremist groups do this as a strategy for a few reasons. First, recruitment, and networking. Weapons and tactical training. And for those infiltrating the Police, access to the NCIC, the nationwide data base on crime, criminals, fingerprinting, DNA, fugitives, stolen property, records, etc. It is accessible to Federal, State and Local law enforcement 24/7, every day of the year. The extremists do this to keep tabs on their groups, members, and themselves, in order to get early warnings on possible investigations or other law enforcement actions that are designed to prevent acts of domestic terrorism, or otherwise disrupt their activity and weapons traffic.

The problem is widespread enough that the FBI instituted a security measure known as "silent hits". Meaning, that in the tradition of "old school" spy tradecraft, when an organized extremist group placed a member in a Police Department and they knew about him, they would let him stay in place to keep eyes on him, and see what he does, including flagging him on the NCIC login, so that he could not see any data about himself, or the group he was part of.

There are many smaller town Southern and Middle American Police Departments in which all or most of the personnel have extremist ties. This goes back decades and decades, and never really disappeared, but faded out then reconstituted. In larger cities, for example Philadelphia, there was an extremist Facebook group of hundreds of racist and misogynist Police that was exposed and broken up, but with only a few penalized or fired. This is a nationwide pattern.

Police Departments have broken up dozens of the groups around the country, but are hamstrung by their defense of 1st Amendment free speech rights. So it continues, and with Trump's movement giving backup, they are spreading faster. All too often there is a racist killing. But it more often takes the form of harassment, shakedowns, planted evidence and fake charges, railroad convictions and pacts of lying and fabrication to obtain convictions against minorities. Or, simply standing aside to allow them to be killed or injured instead of assisting. There are stats available, easily found, of the large number of convictions around the country that have been overturned due to discovery of fabricated evidence and false convictions of minorities by racist Police. They practiced good old fashioned "Southern Justice". Look it up. Bad Cops hate DNA testing and cell phone cameras. They resisted body cams. Their mentality is Us vs Them.

Again, their numbers are few, but for every one of them, there are a hundred or more civilians that are in these racist cults which they belong to. Enough are involved to create a serious vulnerability of the US to homegrown right wing terrorism, and were under serious investigation and countermeasures under President Obama and FBI Director James Comey. That was ended with Comey's firing by Trump and his administration's protection (enabling) of these networks.

It is worth remembering that Trump's chief political strategists who got him elected and ran his domestic agenda were Steve Bannon, and Stephen Miller, both of whom were a direct interface with racist and White Nationalist so-called "Alt-right" groups. Trump came in with a racist White Nationalist political agenda, which disguised to a degree it's true nature, "ghost skinning" if you will, by couching everything they did as "reversing Obama".

 They tried to hide their racist agenda by not making it explicit, but using the method of "dog whistle issues" to jack up Trump's largely racist, Evangelical Fundamentalist and sexist base. They demonized Hillary Clinton with the fear tactic of saying, "she is going to take what you have, and give it to THEM". She wants to abort your (white Christian) babies, take away your AR-15, take your Religious Freedom, blab blah. He used language to incite and inflame his base against the so called Left, which meant everybody who stood in Trump's way, the Press, the non-existent Deep State, etc. And w,ith the help of barely short of KKK Right Wing media figures like Limbaugh and Hannity, stoked the fires of old American racism, weaponized it, and remade it in their own image. Like the Jews in Germany, Mexicans, Muslims, Chinese, and Black Criminals and others became the "Untermenschen" that threatened White America's way of life with the scourges of drugs, rape, and disease, enabled by the Left wing Democratic "Welfare State". It was always about race. 

That was the Engine for Trump's election. And, distilled from the disgusting sewer of that old gutter racism, is a small, heavily armed, covert, violent hard core. They are "Ghost Skinning", lurking in the shadows until called upon by their superiors to take up arms and rebel against the government, should there be an election, and Trump loses.

Think back on everything you've seen in the past four years, Trump's tweets praising the Nazis at Charlottesville, his pardoning of military War Criminals who murdered Muslims in captivity. His pardoning of Sheriff Arpaio of Phoenix, who was in process of organizing Vigilante private units to hunt down and shoot illegals at the border. His advocacy of shooting migrants at the border, building a moat and stocking it with Alligators, separating families, caging children, praise of the heavily armed, right wing militia members who threatened Governors and Legislators with violence, as "really good people". Then, watch video of Trump whipping up his enraged supporters at one of his rallies, and look at the completely White, hate filled and ecstatic faces of those people.

Then, pop in a DVD of Leni Riefensthal's "Triumph Des Willens" documentary/propaganda film of Hitler's triumphant entry into Austria after the Anschluss, and tell me what you see. And ask yourself what you are going to do, now that you see it.
