The Current Crisis, Trump's Call for Shooting Protesters, and What We Need to Do--

I apologize for another long post. Some of my friends remember what I write. Martha remembers everything I say. She can tell you that in early March, when the first phases of lockdown were started up, and we were deciding whether we could move to Mexico or not, we sat down and had a talk. I told her that the measures were too late and not enough, there would be a high death rate, this at the same time the White House, GOP Congressional leaders, Fox, and the Conservative Think Tank experts were lying their faces off to cover for the Orange idiot.

I told her that the supply chain for essential items and food would be disrupted, and that there would be a high likelihood of rioting, which any number of things could set off. We talked about the social pressure of mass unemployment fueling this explosion when it happened. We knew at a certain point Mexico was off the radar, because AMLO was acting like an idiot. We were debating still selling the house but moving to an apartment further from the City, because Philly was one of the Cities that would be under the most economic pressure. Then we decided to ride it out where we are, with a big back and forth about adding to home security, buying a big Dog, (still talking about it) and stockpiling food and meds, masks, etc. Remember, this was in March.

Then we decided the best thing to do was write and organize people, meaning, share our understanding and experience, because the things which Martha and I have been preoccupied with every day for decades are things that most people only think about during emergencies after they happen. And that's what we are doing.

I've noticed many people are trying to contribute to stopping the violence by sharing inspiring stories and anecdotes of people caring, helping, sacrificing, doing good things for others, and expressing love. This is totally moving, and we need more of it.

But, given where we are I feel I have to look forward, and say what I'm thinking.
Trump is acting to radically divide and inflame beyond anything he has done, driven by his desperation to keep power, since he will be in court or jail for the rest of his life if he loses, and he knows it. His internal polls and public ones are telling him he is collapsing, as he should be.

Mentally, his mind is in the Bunker below the Chancellory in Berlin, April 1945, as he hears the Red Army closing from the East, and the Allies not far behind from the West, knowing what awaits him at the end, knowing intimately the crimes he ordered committed, and that there's no escape.

You've read what I've written on the similarities psychologically. Do you remember what Hitler did in his final days? He actually ordered Albert Speer, and his other subordinates to begin the process of destroying German supply depots, warehouses, food storage, factories, and infrastructure, at the same time he ordered small boys to the front to hold the line. He told Speer, that the German people, by losing the War, have proven themselves unworthy of their German lineage and unfit to live. So, that if he was going down, he was taking Germany with him in true Wagnerian fashion. Speer said "Jawohl mein Fuehrer!" but refused to carry out the orders. Hitler was already a madman. At the end he was completely psychotic.

Everything Trump is saying and doing right now is displaying a similar crackup, in which every tweet, every statement is the incendiary action of a psychotic. By threatening violence, he is fueling the increasing violent reaction. Even his bootlicking sycophant advisors are divided over what he is doing.

So, there is hope that the rioting will abate for now, the looting stop, and for a period of recovery and healing. It will be very short.

Nothing being done right now addresses the Economic collapse which will deepen.
Trump is a covid 19 denier. He is reopening because he is desperate, and plans to cut off unemployment. The reopening will explode the 2nd wave.

I'm sorry to say that we have to plan ahead for and presume a second wave of the Virus, worst than the first, which because of Trump's inaction and insanity is going to require a second and more drastic lockdown. And, as we feel the effects of food shortages because of the spread of sickness even further among food and commercial workers, transportation workers, etc, there will be a second wave of rioting, worse than this, and it won't be driven by reaction to racial oppression, but by shortages. And there is the specter of a horrific kind of Right vs Left Civil conflict in literal street warfare, reminiscent of that in Germany after WWI, between the Right wing Freikorps, and the Communist Spartacist League that plunged the country into chaos, creating the breeding ground for the Nazi rise to power. We got a whiff of that this week, as I warned 3 weeks ago.

We have less than 6 months to the election. The crisis won't wait. We need calm, compassion charity, understanding, all of these things. But, if people want to survive, we have to do something else.

I'm not a doomsayer. I'm not suggesting anyone give up, throw up their hands, or jump out the window.

We need two things now. Throw everything we have into the Biden campaign. We should be giving tons of money, and if we don't have it, raise it. And if you can't raise it, volunteer. And if we can't do that, recruit others to volunteer. Everyone can do something! It will be up to us then to make sure that Biden goes the right way. The Biden candidacy must be a coalition to save the country, a true "Team of Rivals" in the tradition of Lincoln's Cabinet, not a Partisan clique that represents the Democratic status quo. It's not "his" campaign, its ours.

And second, we have to have a loud and clear clamor to remove Trump from the Presidency under the 25th Amendment because he is demonstrably mentally ill.
Everyone needs to call their representatives, Union leaders, Pastors Priests, Imams and Rabbis. Call into talk radio, Gospel stations even Sports Talk, you name it. You are home all day, what else should you be doing? !!!! There has to be a Nationwide drumbeat to remove Trump now! We can't wait for the election, because we are going to Hell between now and then. If we make this big enough, it will limit what he can do at the very least, including his insane proposals to deploy the Military domestically that he is making and his threats to shoot protesters. ( which I warned about weeks ago)

I'm looking for allies. We can do this. In this situation, a small group can be a spark that starts a wildfire. The mass demonstrations in 1989 that tore down the Berlin Wall started 6 weeks before it happened, with 4 people having a candlelight vigil in the Public square in Leipzig. If we do something now others will pick up on it. And believe me, we are not alone, many others think this way and are just waiting for a green light to go into high gear.
