As someone said, if it weren't for the fact that so many lives have been lost, and so many more endangered, Trump's latest tirade on Twitter would serve as high comedy. But, I'm losing my ability to laugh when it comes to him, and I don't think I'm alone. A good friend of mine lost her closest relative today, and this Pandemic is not going away. Every day that passes, Trump loses more of his tenuous connection to reality.
People can now see that which they were avoiding all this time. Now his incompetence is leading toward the breaking of the food supply chain, on top of the mass unnecessary deaths due to Covid-19. I brought this up last week, and in fact, Martha and I talked about the danger of food riots in the beginning of March, when the first phases of the lockdown were beginning. This, we saw coming. Trump has opened the door to something that had been inconceivable, and that we don't want to conceive of.
There has to be an initiative to remove him from power right now. We cannot wait for the election. You all can see he is unbalanced, he, the man who has his finger on the button. What do you think he will do if the situation in North Korea goes sideways?. He is completely unstable.
I'm going to escalate my efforts for invoking the 25th Amendment, right now. You guys can work on Voter Registration and mail-in voting if you want. It may help if there's an election, but working toward November is not even in the right Universe. I guarantee, the 25th option is being discussed in the White House in secret. They can see up close what we all have seen, and more. They see a President raving like Hitler in his final days in the Bunker. He's out of control. For the sake of our Nation, our future, the President must be taken out of the White House and be given a Psych Eval, and treatment, right now.
Barr must be fired immediately as the second priority. The Military needs to assert itself, and take Command of the Logistics, supply, and management of all Medical equipment, Pharmaceuticals, and emergency Medicine to address the Covid-19 crisis top down, and if need be, invoke emergency FEMA provisions to remove rogue Governors from office. FEMA has protocols for Emergency Management during National catastrophe called "Continuity in Government" which have been there since the Cold War in the Event of Nuclear War. They might have to activate those now, to handle the coming Food shortages as well.
The US Government must immediately temporarily Nationalize the Food processing Industry, Trucking, Rail, delivery services, and Food distribution, running it as a Wartime MIlitary Operation, and begin emergency training of Reserves and the National Guard to go into these Closed plants and take them over, and make sure the people going in are protected and can do it safely. There is precedent for this. FDR was going to Nationalize coal mining when the UAW threatened a strike during the War. Harry Truman actually did take action to force the Steel Mills open during Korea. Reality is, we don't have enough workers that are healthy to process and package our food. The Military has the manpower and the command structure to set this in motion now. You guys think I'm kidding? We have a Super Emergency! If you are not panicked you aren't thinking. The CEO of Tyson Foods wrote an OP-Ed today, saying that the Food Supply chain is broken. He goes through it. Read it, look it up on Google news. He is sending up a huge SOS.
Just read this article. Get the picture. Trump really is insane, and incompetent. Its not just a derogatory term being thrown around. We are running out of time to prevent catastrophe. What part of the term "food riots" do people not understand? We are either going to deploy our Soldiers to reopen the Food plants, stop the senseless mass slaughter of livestock, and break the logjam, or we deploy our Military on the Streets in Riot Control against our own people. That's where we are headed.
Some combination of forces needs to move on this right now, before it gets to that point. I have the guts to look at this picture and face it, but a lot of people don't. I wouldn't be doing anyone any favors by bullshitting and saying something impotent and useless, like, "boy, we really have to vote these Republicans out in November". We are way past that. Get on the phones, call your Representatives, burn their phone lines up. If you know someone influential who has connections, call them. Call Biden's campaign offices, tell them they have to address these things right now. Don't just sit there.
