It addresses the prospect of a potential Democratic wipeout in 2022 as the motivation for Biden to "go big, or go home". Aside from the fact that it drowns us in pessimism, deconstructs the political upheavals of the last several years, especially those in 2020, ignores the extraordinary organizing process that enabled Democrats to fight through layer upon layer of Voter suppression, intimidation, and disinformation to deliver States like Georgia which had been Red since always, it is largely devoid of any insights which might have come from frontline political organizing experience.   April 28, 2021 There have been some fairly gratuitous and bad faith attacks on Joe Biden coming from some loud voices in the Left/Progressive grouping in recent weeks. Several identify as formerly active Bernie Sanders promoters who years ago swore on a stack of "Little Red Books" that they would never support Joe Biden in any circumstances. This, notwithstanding the strong and thoughtful qualified support for Biden so far by Sanders himself and other Progressives such as AOC in the same timeframe.  I'll address this with a couple of things I post here in the next days.   April 23, 2021 The following is an addendum to yesterday's article on the history of Marjorie Taylor Greene's birthplace, Milledgeville Georgia, the site of the worlds formerly largest mental hospital, with a century and a half long legacy of extreme racism, abuse, torture, murder, Nazi style medical experimentation, Lobotomies, and mass sterilizations in the name of Eugenics. It would be easy to make a glib joke about whether she was an escaped inmate, but that would be demeaning to the mentally ill or otherwise unjustly institutionalized people who were the victims of this charnel house.  This will be short, but it's meant to address the question of how someone of such low character, destructive ideas, and unfiltered racism could possibly get elected to Congress in 21st Century America.
